.
For what it is worth, Joe - and it is worth a whole lot - Ledger will live forever here on Brokeback Mountain.

Heath at the peak! I hate to say it, but Brokeback Mountain has gone totally mythological as a result of this terribly tragic event! You know it too…

Some people are talking depression and suicide… Jake Gyllenhall, Matilda’s godfather, getting worried about Heath’s psychological state and trying to get him to see a therapist… I hope to God that none of it turns out to be true, but if it is, then these facts explain the total genius of Heath’s portrayal of Ennis Del Mar. Heath wasn’t gay, but like Ennis, he was tortured by demons --- and it showed in his performance in the film.

Oh God! I feel so sad tonight, so Greek tragedy sad…

There is a darkness upon the land, and some seem more sensitive to it. There have been many lately, who have stepped out before their time.

Ledger has stepped into a world of light.

I have faith that he has.

We are spiritual beings on a human journey.

It does hurt, very much, to have him gone from this world.

Hugs to you, dear Joe, across the many miles.

Very few stars deaths affect me but this one did. I saw “Brokeback Mountain” and I loved it. It was a truly sad, tragic, educational and very haunting movie. It stayed with me for days! I have to admit I was nervous when I rented it, as I knew the subject and I also knew it was going to be graphic. Being from an era where gayness was a closet thing, I had no idea how I was going to handle the possible graphic scenes. But the acting and story was so beautifully done it would turn the most hardened homophobic to mush. Ledger’s acting was absolutely phenomenal and he didn’t, in my opinion, receive the accolades he deserved because of the subject matter. It kind of took the world by surprise, me thinks. Out of all the movies that have had the power to change the status quo, this one can be credited for doing this more than any movie in history to date. I say that as most of the earth changing movies that I have ever seen have just reinforced a progressive opinion that I already held. This movie really opened my eyes, not that I have ever thought of myself as homophobic, just ignorant and frankly I’ve never had much interest in dwelling on something I had no way of understanding. Live and let live was always my motto but without much of an insight as to why I felt that way in regards to homosexuality. This movie is THE classic of all time. Ledger takes one hell of a legacy with him and I believe this will not be fully recognized for a few generations to come.

The hideously evil Dr. Fred Phelps and his group plans to protest the funeral. The signs will read: "God hates fags --- and fag-enablers." They had better watch out. Aussies don't take any crap from people, and Heath is a national hero to them. If the Phelps group dares to show up at the funeral, I hope that they are stoned to death right outside the church. The Aussies are just the ones to do it too...

Brokeback Mountain lives, and so does the memory of Heath Ledger because of this film...
