Survey to see how many of us own or have purchased a vehicle from the Big 3 automakers in the past 5 years?

Thanks for your responses. This thread has had 49 views, probably including some check backs by us - and yet no response to the poll. Wonder if it is fair to assume then, that the majority of persons who have viewed this thread would have answered in the negative? Or..?
I own two fords. Have owned VWs in the past.

We haven't bought any new cars in the past 5 years. I have a Ford I bought new in '88, though. She's currently not in use, waiting in line for the resident mechanic to do some work on her, but she's been a very good, reliable car for the most part. We also have an older Dodge van that we use for the big stuff. Other cars are an MGB that will be up for sale when the repairs are finished, and an Audi (was a good deal--used). I've never owned anything but American made cars (except the current Audi), although Corvid has owned a few foreign sports cars in the past (besides the current one).

Voted no.

I've owned a couple of Chevy cars and a Ford truck over the years but never bought them new.

No. Two Camrys, which was the safest car in both of the years we bought them according to Consumer Reports. When we buy again in 2010, if an American car is the safest, we will go American, but we choose by safety first and reliability second. I do remember hearing that recently that the tide has been turning, but I haven't done any current research into it.

I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty I bought in 2005, and a 1998 Honda Civic. I'm eager to see what progress Neil Young makes with developing his (1959) Linc-Volt.

Have a 2004 Honda Accord, owned two Camry's and two other Hondas, used to buy American, the last one was an Oldsmobile in 84 which I leased. I know I live in auto country but the area I am in you see a lot of BMW's, Mecedes, Lexus etc...there was a time if you didn't own an American car and worked for one of the big three you couldn't park your car in their lots.

As I've mentioned before, in 1991 I bought my GM Saturn. 1991 was the first model year for Saturns. He still looks brand new and runs beautifully. Gets 32 MPG. Passes annual safety and emission testing easily and with numbers far below allowable emissions. NO MAJOR REPAIRS. I adore him and sincerely hope I die before he does. :)

Bellisima -- yup I own a 91 Saturn S - still a beauty and yes still gets great MPG! I bought the 02 in 03 - lease car with low mileage also a Saturn and also great mpg.

The only foreign car I ever bought was a little Toyota Carolla (izuzu) and it did great as well til it finally succumbed to road salt and front passenger floor that had not been coated properly. Was still running when it was sold to a guy for his college daughter - who drove it all four years. WHO knows it might still be running. (He did weld a new floor in the area and coated it for salt.)

I've had Chevy and Ford pickup trucks. An old 66 which still runs but is only for use around here.
