We don't deserve this planet.

"The catalogue of waste dumped at sea by the Soviets, according to documents seen by Bellona, and which were today released by the Norwegian daily Aftenposten, includes some 17,000 containers of radioactive waste, 19 ships containing radioactive waste, 14 nuclear reactors, including five that still contain spent nuclear fuel; 735 other pieces of radiactively contaminated heavy machinery, and the K-27 nuclear submarine with its two reactors loaded with nuclear fuel."

Japanese company Cyberdyne announced today an improved version of HAL (Hybrid Assistive Limb), the exoskeleton which we wrote about almost two years ago, when a tech journalist took a few steps at CES 2011 wearing the brain-controlled cyber-trousers.

The latest version of HAL has remained brain-controlled but evolved to a full body robot suit that protects against heavy radiation without feeling the weight of the suit. Eventually it could be used by workers dismantling the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant.

The new type of HAL is on display today at the Japan Robot Week exhibition in Tokyo. It will be used by workers at nuclear disaster sites and will be field tested at Fukushima, where a tsunami in March 2011 smashed into the power plant, sparking meltdowns that forced the evacuation of a huge area of northeastern Japan.

HAL – coincidentally the name of the evil supercomputer in Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey” – has a network of sensors that monitor the electric signals coming from the wearer’s brain. It uses these to activate the robot’s limbs in concert with the worker’s, taking weight off his or her muscles.

The robot is manufactured by Cyberdyne, a company unrelated to the fictional firm responsible for the Terminator in the 1984 film of the same name.
HAL? Cyberdyne? Nothing to see here. The whole world is now one continuous psy-op.

WTF. That is unreal. This stuff affects people, even if we are aware of it, it will worm its way in.

TEPCO, the Japanese utility in charge of the Fukushima Daiichi power plant that melted down last year, admitted on Friday that the disaster could have been averted. So why did it fail to act accordingly? Fear.
The utility said it could have done more to prevent the earthquake and tsunami-triggered disaster that became the world’s most severe nuclear accident since the 1986 Chernobyl meltdown. TEPCO said it knew that it had to improve safety procedures at Fukushima before the 9.0-magnitude earthquake sent walls of water slamming into the facility on March 11, 2011.

The reasons TEPCO gives for not implementing certain safety procedures at the plant before the disaster include a list of fears of what would happen if they admitted such measures were needed.

The report mentions the potential negative political and legal ramifications if the utility had admitted there were problems at the Fukushima plant that needed correcting.
“There was concern that if new severe accident measures were implemented, it could spread concern in the siting community that there is a problem with the safety of current plants,” the utility said in a report.
The report also said there was “concern of litigation risks” if there was an admission that “severe accident measures were necessary.”

At the same time, “there was concern that by implementing severe accident measures, it would exacerbate siting community and public anxiety and add momentum to anti-nuclear movements,” the report said.
We need to run our countries like corporations! Business owners are superior to parasitic employees! Yay!

In my opinion this is soft evidence of a global cabal - a cabal which mocks and teases as it ravages the globe. These kinds of references are non-stop. I could post them every day.

SAN DIEGO (CN) - The Fukushima nuclear disaster exposed Navy rescue workers to dangerous levels of radiation, which the government-owned power plant covered up, eight U.S. sailors claim in court.

Eight crew members of the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan, whose home port is San Diego, sued the Tokyo Electric Power Co. in Federal Court.

They claim the utility company, "a wholly owned public benefit subsidiary of the government of Japan," misrepresented radiation levels to lull the U.S. Navy "into a false sense of security."

Lead plaintiff Lindsay R. Cooper claims Tokyo Electric (TEPCO) intentionally concealed the dangerous levels of radiation in the environment from U.S. Navy rescue crews working off the coast of Japan after the March 10, 2011 earthquake and tsunami set off the nuclear disaster.
Heh... San Diego sailors trying to sue TEPCO? As if the Ronald Reagan lacks radiation detection equipment?

TOKYO —
Officials from Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) on Monday met with a Fukushima fisheries cooperative to seek its members’ permission to dump groundwater from the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant into the ocean.

The contaminated water storage has been a problem since early in the accident. TEPCO officials acknowledged last month that a lack of storage space has become a “crisis.” TEPCO has promised to speed up building more reliable steel tanks and eventually empty the underground tanks.

Runoff from the three reactors melted in the aftermath of the March 2011 quake-tsunami and a steady inflow of groundwater seeping into the basement of their damaged buildings produce about 400 tons of contaminated water daily at the plant.

TEPCO says 280,000 tons of contaminated water has been stored in tanks on the plant, and the amount would double within a few years.

At Monday’s meeting, TEPCO officials outlined their plan to the fishermen’s cooperative in which it hopes to divert groundwater into the ocean, TV Asahi reported. TEPCO said only water with low radioactivity would be dumped.

A spokesman for the fishermen was quoted by TV Asahi as saying it would be difficult to give approval to such a plan but added that the cooperative will study the plan.

TEPCO also needs the central government’s approval to implement such a plan.
File this under "who cares". Or maybe "Don't question the superior beings who run big companies, you loser".

Yeah, just dump it in the ocean. That sounds good.

It's your GUT that tells you when you're in danger and being lied to - and it's a criminal act to accept that ANY country's political machine would tell the real truth about a dangerous situation such as a Nuclear Meltdown. It's a LOSE-LOSE situation.

The scientists who are analyzing the "debris" that's coming ashore in the Pacific (including the U.S.) are also being told to down-play the hazardous condition of the debris, along with the invasive species (which have been radiated and are therefore TRULY a threat, now!) who have hitched a ride on the debris.

Well, I can understand people not being told the whole truth, when the people who are hiding it by omission have no way of stopping or changing it, but I, for one, would like to see beach-combers (especially children) knowing that they shouldn't touch the things they suspect might be from Japan. However, last I read, the EPA put far more emphasis on the invasive species than on the radioactivity on some of these pieces.

And, as just an addendum, we're still importing fabric, fish and vegetables from Japan and other nations which were impacted by the Fukushima disaster. And according to one of my tourist magazines, tourism to Japan is now nearly back to normal...

Ah, what short memories and greedy travel agents we have spawned.

Fukushima is About to Turn the Pacific Radioactive

Deep beneath Fukushima’s crippled nuclear power station a massive underground reservoir of contaminated water that began spilling from the plant’s reactors after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami has been creeping slowly toward the sea.

Now, 2 1/2 years later, experts fear it is about to reach the Pacific and greatly worsen what is fast becoming a new crisis at Fukushima: the inability to contain vast quantities of radioactive water.
