I think everyone up here has had it. More snow is forecast for today, more the day after tomorrow. Kinda like Groundhog Day, only colder.......

Overnight - more stories of roof collapses in the greater Boston area. MBTA trains getting stuck in the snow and Mass governor calling out the company that handles the operations of the trains. A man has been brought-up on charges in court for assaulting a snow plow with a shovel after the snow plow operator buried the guy's driveway back-in after he'd spent hours making it accessible.

Got about 6" more last night with more expected today and the next few days with rain for the weekend. People are scrambling to try and get the snow off their roofs.

Getting a little crazier than usual up here......

I remember one year in the 90's when our area got 2 ft. of snow on several occasions throughout the winter and my car was buried. I was stranded for 2 wks. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as what you are suffering through. Unbelievable!

They showed a picture of the great lakes - all covered with ice and snow.

Too bad we can't load up the snow, melt it and send it out to the west coast to fill up their dry lakes.

What we have here is a little snow, but temps - with one high day of 26 - but gee they say we might get to 40 tomorrow - only problem is rain and freezing -- sleet -- maybe snow?

---
The east coast is a mess - PLEASE stay safe and yes if possible get snow OFF those roofs.

More snow last night. I cleared out my driveway last night and when I go up this morning, everything was covered in snow. There was a hug pile-up on the main bridge between the city here and the suburbs to the west and towards Providence. Traffic tied-up for hours.... entire eastbound side was blocked off to traffic.

Mass DOT has had contracts out for the repair of this bridge - it's going to be about six years to, fix the issues and reroute traffic. As of now, two lanes out of six - one in each direction, have been blocked off. But, no one has been doing any work..... there are jersey barriers set-up, blocking the right-hand lanes, but no work. Makes for a mess and traffic back-ups.

Gets ever better when the tourist show-up in the summer months

And Now, A Message From Your Friends At Popular Science
  • Winter on the East Coast of the United States has been brutal, and it isn't over yet. Freezing temperatures are predicted to break even more frigid records over the next two days. Boston has been buried in stupid amounts of snow, and Washington DC ground to a halt under the devastating impact of four inches of snow.

But really, it's not all bad. In fact, according a recent report from the National Climate Data Center, this has been the sixth warmest winter on record.
FULL STORY

Most notably here, it goes without saying IT'S ALL ABOUT CLIMATE DISRUPTION!! (& of course YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT)

Really wanta help fix things? Quit exhaling.

Yup, that about sums it up..........

This weekend's forecast: RAIN!!!!!!! So, we're all expecting an increase in the number of roof collapses. People are trying to get the snow and ice off their roofs - some are just giving-up and are willing to just let nature take its course. I've been knocking ice off my house for weeks now - and it still comes right back. Should be an interesting weekend.....

Rain comes and roofs collapse, that's a sign Spring is just around the corner.

OR maybe not... it's kinda early ainit? (For Spring that is, not roofs collapsing)

Above-Freezing Readings 'Warm' Northeast Amid Storms
New England, where Boston has seen over 8 feet of snow in recent weeks, has 3 to 6 inches of new snow forecast for much of the region, as well as a wintry mix including rain as temps rise on Sunday.

Another Winter Storm Hits East Coast; More Cold Temps Coming
Brittany Thayer was buying winter boots at Lenny's Shoe and Apparel in Barre, Vermont, on Saturday as the snow was just starting to fall. "I think it's stupid," she said of the snow. "I'm ready for spring."

Why It's So Freakin' Cold: Here's The Science
While the freezing weather is part of a weather pattern that began last year, a separate repeating weather system is to blame for the record snow levels in Boston and other parts of New England.
