Seti & Dual processors

Post by megman » 04-17-2003 07:49 PM

Anybody else here running dual CPU's with Seti?

I just installed XP Pro on a dual PII350 and Seti Driver now has an extra button.

"Set Processor Affinity" Does this enable you to process 2 WU's the same as one or does it utilize both CPU's to crunch one unit?

You got me there, meg - I'm still trying to figure out how to re-install the seti driver. Where was that download again? I haven't been able to route a pathway to my backup files yet...

Actually I figured it out. I now have 2 WU's processing at the same time each using their own CPU.

Are you looking for Seti Driver or the cli client? If it's the 3.03 client, I did stick it in your mail. If you need it again, let me know.:D

Even though I now have this running, I would still appreciate hearing from anybody else running dual's & Seti.

I'm not sure I have this running as well as it should be, even though my times are better.

I'm running dual slot 1 PII350's. Duals require Linux or Windows 2000 or higher, which is why I'm using XP. CPU parity in XP works great.

You can assign whatever programs you want to run on each CPU, independent of each other, which is great for running 2 WU's at the same time.

3.03 is in your mail. Hope the new box smokes for ya. (Seti-wise I mean. No pun intended):D:cool:
