That really was one of those special radio moments that can't be repeated.

You are so right OMG......when something major was going on Art always opened up the lines to the people in the area it was happening instead of having on a bunch of so called experts.

I was at work that night. My area of the shop had its own radio and we would listen to C2C 2-3 nights a week. By the 2nd hour of the show the main shop radio which was piped over the PA was changed to Coast when word spread that something, perhaps otherworldly, was happening over Phoenix. It was great night to be a Coast listener.

Lakesider, what a great story......it must have been something to be able to discuss with your co-workers what was going on that night, most of us listen all alone in our homes, there were so many times I wanted to talk about what was happening....ORR is great but not the same as talking to another person who is right next to you.:)

Being I was the resident Coast listener, people from the other work areas of our shop who had never heard of Art would come over and ask what was really happening etc. When Art announced that they had gone to defcon 3 or whatever it was you could feel the excitement building. The shop foreman wasn't too happy as nothing was getting done... heh.

shirley, i looked at that cd i got from someone in Tennessee and there's alot of Pheonix Lights stuff on it. There are two files called
Phoenix Lights Full and Phoenix Lights X-tra 20 min but I think I need to update something to play an mp4 file.

I got Ed Dames talking about the lights to Art - something about it being a hoax made by lasers...?

Anyway, a little help? What do I need to play an mp4. I'd rather not update my old winamp. My WMP won't play it either.

I was working late on the night of the Phoenix Lights, and I turned Art Bell on during my drive home. Art's show on that night was perhaps the most exciting radio that I have ever heard. I remember shaking, positively shaking, at the wheel as I listened, the Hale-Bopp Comet sparkling in the northwest as I drove.

I thought at the time that "this is it, the moment of disclosure!" But of course it wasn't. The whole affair was covered up in the mass media, and the tens of thousands of people who saw the craft were demonized. Coast-to-Coast was soon bought up by Prem Rad and began its long day's journey into night. And life goes on... <SIGH>
"Fuggedah about it, Jake --- it's Chinatown!"

while searching for Art's 3/17/97 Phoenix Lights show, i came across a show Dr. Sky did about the Phoenix Lights... terrible video, plus it's a RA file, and the interview was on FOX :(

thinking about it... didn't Art have Dr. Sky on quite a bit back then?

Ivy, Shirley, one says the 13th and the other says the 17th? Oh well I guess I don't need the date now anyway. My Nero Media Player says it will play mp4 so I will install it.

Joequinn I can imagine the skin scrawling right off my bones. I can only imagine...I didn't hear the show that night. In fact I've never heard it. :(

Is it possible nobody has this show?
Can we hound The Coastmaster to play a replay on some Saturday night?

Glop - mp4 files can be played by the iTunes player. I have many mp4 files on my computer that I access with my iTunes player.

If there is a way you can get the full show up to yousendit, all of us Pirates would greatly appreciate it! :)
