Pathetic..........

Trump lowers the White House flag after pressure from both Republicans and Democrats

After pressure from lawmakers, President Donald Trump lowered the White House's flag to half-staff, days after a US Capitol Hill police officer died amidst the deadly Capitol Hill siege.

Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, 42, was hit with a fire extinguisher as a mob proceeded to lay siege to Capitol Hill, law enforcement officials said to the Associated Press. Sicknick later collapsed and was placed on a ventilator in critical condition, family members told ProPublica.

Sicknick was a member of the force since 2008, and also served in the New Jersey Air National Guard.

Four others died after the riot. The incident is under investigation.

So, the FBI knows of planned insurrection on a nationwide scale......... Sounds like the GOP-backed domestic terrorists are declaring war on America.

Nice..........

Armed protests being planned at all 50 state capitols, FBI bulletin says
An internal FBI note obtained by ABC News shows warnings of "a huge uprising."

Starting this week and running through at least Inauguration Day, armed protests are being planned at all 50 state capitols and at the U.S. Capitol, according to an internal FBI bulletin obtained by ABC News.

The FBI has also received information in recent days on a group calling for “storming” state, local and federal government courthouses and administrative buildings in the event President Donald Trump is removed from office prior to Inauguration Day. The group is also planning to “storm” government offices in every state the day President-elect Joe Biden will be inaugurated, regardless of whether the states certified electoral votes for Biden or Trump.

"The FBI received information about an identified armed group intending to travel to Washington, DC on 16 January," the bulletin read. "They have warned that if Congress attempts to remove POTUS via the 25th Amendment, a huge uprising will occur."

Federal law enforcement officials have advised police agencies to increase their security posture at statehouses around the country following the riot at the U.S. Capitol, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

Following the violent pro-Trump breach of the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday, Democratic lawmakers in the House of Representatives pushed forward Monday with an effort to get Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment, which would declare Trump incapable of performing his presidential duties and would install Pence as acting president until Biden is inaugurated Jan. 20.

MORE: Trump-Biden transition live updates: House Democrats introduce article of impeachment
The effort was ultimately blocked by Republican Rep. Alex Mooney of West Virginia, and House Democrats then introduced an article of impeachment against Trump for "incitement of insurrection."

Excellent!!!!!!!

Rudy Giuliani being investigated by New York State Bar Association
"Let's have a trial by combat," he told rally-goers before the Capitol riot.

The New York State Bar Association is investigating whether to drop Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's personal attorney, from its ranks.

Giuliani is one of the few lawyers defending the president as prosecutors consider whether to charge him for inciting the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The investigation would stain Giuliani's record but would not result in his disbarment, which would be handled by the Appellate Division of the New York Court System.

Removal from the membership of the bar association could, however, make it more challenging for Giuliani to represent Trump, though it wasn’t immediately clear how the reprimand would affect him outside of New York.

In a statement, the association noted Giuliani's words at the "Save America" rally that preceded the riot.

I watched the entire thing unfold on TV. After a couple of hours of seeing absolutely no police presence of any size that could put a stop to these thugs, I started to become suspicious. And then I watched the governor of Maryland do a press conference to explain that he had offered the national guard more than once and was rejected, it wasn't hard to discern that something really corrupt and planned in advance was unfolding.

They are still dragging their feet re holding anybody accountable for an attempted coup where 5 lives were lost. The Dems have no power and the Rethuglicans are still kissing the ring of Trump.

Congress Can Expel Members Who Supported Riot
Lawmakers have booted their colleagues several times in the past.

If members of the House and Senate are upset that some of their colleagues supported and encouraged the violent mob that stormed the Capitol last week, they can do something about it.

They can kick them out.

The Constitution gives Congress clear authority to punish its members and to expel them. The House and Senate have used the expulsion power only rarely, however, partly because disgraced members tend to resign. And Democrats seem more focused on impeaching President Donald Trump for a second time for inciting the insurrection. The president cast doubt on the election for weeks and then directed rioters to march on the Capitol, telling them if they didn’t “fight like hell,” they would lose their country.

Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) introduced a resolution in the House with 47 co-sponsors directing the Ethics Committee to commence a disciplinary review of all 139 Republicans who voted to overturn the election results to see if they should be censured or expelled.

Several lawmakers have called for Sens. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) to resign for their role in last week’s riot. Hawley was the first senator to say he would object to the certification of November’s election, which Trump falsely claimed had been stolen from him. He and Cruz led a faction of Senate Republicans who helped Trump turn what is normally a routine certification vote into a day of rage.

“It’s time to STAND UP,” Hawley tweeted earlier in the week. He also said on Twitter he was glad several other Republicans were “joining the fight” by agreeing to vote against the election result. “This is about taking a stand where you can take a stand,” he said on Fox News. Outside the Capitol on Wednesday, he raised a fist in solidarity with the crowd of angry Trump supporters.

The crowd became a mob that ransacked both the House and Senate, interrupting lawmakers as they certified the election result. Even after the riot, Hawley dishonestly said in a Senate floor speech that the election was tainted with fraud. Some Senate Republicans were shaken by the violence and changed their minds about opposing the certification; Hawley, Cruz and four others did not.

Without a doubt RA.

We KNOW now, that Trump started working last year to gut the DHS Intelligence sharing division, preventing the dissemination of information. Imagine if President Obama or Clinton did this. The Right would be calling for the heads.

As it is.......... the members of this domestic terrorist organization that invaded the Capitol under Trump's direction - called them to DC for a specific date, spoke to them and directed them to march on the Capitol, were caught on video calling for the VP to be caught and hung as well as the Speaker of the House.

There are laws addressing these actions. The Congress needs to use them. Now.

We have members of the GOP Congress calling for, and egging-on domestic terrorists, in their attack on other members of Congress. They need to be removed.

Thankfully, for the idiot domestic terrorists who are former military, the Pentagon is recalling them to active service where the will be tried, convicted, stripped of their rank and retirement pensions and at the very least, tossed into Leavenworth.

They SHOULD BE shot.

And, here is a precious story with Senator Graham, one of Trumps top enablers, rerating the police for not protecting members of Congress.......

Maskless Lindsey Graham 'screamed at cop during Capitol siege for failing to protect politicians from Trump's MAGA mob', Democrat senator Sherrod Brown claims

A maskless Lindsey Graham allegedly screamed at a Capitol police officer during the siege on Congress last Wednesday, saying law enforcement officials did not do enough to protect politicians from President Trump's MAGA mob.

Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown claimed he witnessed Graham's dramatic outburst as 75 senators huddled together in a room with their staffers amid the attack.

Brown told MSNBC's Ari Melber on Monday: 'Lindsey Graham started screaming at one of the officers, I think it was one of the Captains, saying "How come you didn't protect us? It's your job."

'This is the same Lindsey Graham that for the past four years... defended and argued for and encouraged and aided and abetted this President and all of his followers,' Brown stated.

The Ohio senator claimed Graham 'had his mask off' and was 'screaming at the officer from five feet away'.

Graham, one of the Republican Party's most prominent politicians, has not responded to the allegation.

SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP. You and the remainder of the GOP Trump enablers brought this on yourselves. As the Trump domestic terrorists screamed at Graham in his airport escape, "This is how it's gonna be for the rest of your life, everywhere you go!!!!!!!"

Couldn't happen to a better person.

Trump’s fate lands with Pence again as GOP fissures grow: The Note

The partisan cracks among lawmakers that widened throughout the 2020 campaign manifested into canyon-sized divisions over the fallout of last week's assault on the Capitol. In the span of about a week, the initial flurry of hometown newspapers' calls for resignations of several Republicans tied to the events surrounding Jan. 6 grew into actionable proposals that address the dual issues of creating opposition against the 2020 election results and riling up protesters.

As of Monday evening, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee called for the resignation of at least 16 Republican lawmakers who were linked to last week’s volatile protests. Meanwhile, freshman Squad member Rep. Cori Bush made her legislative debut by introducing a resolution that aims to expel members who sought to overturn the election. The document, which is co-sponsored by 47 Democratic House members, specifically calls out Rep. Mo Brooks, Sen. Josh Hawley and Sen. Ted Cruz for having "taken unprecedented steps to defy the will of the American people."

Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ark., speaks Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, in Washington, at a "Save America Rall...Read More
"Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution posits that no individual can serve in the House of Representatives who has engaged in disloyalty or sedition against the United States. There is no place in the People's House for these heinous actions. I firmly believe that these members are in breach of their sworn Oath of Office to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. They must be held accountable," Bush said in a statement.

Expulsion typically requires two-thirds majority vote outcome, but Bush is not alone in calling for drastic action across the aisle. Two of her Democratic colleagues, Reps. Tom Malinowski and Debbie Wasserman Schultz, took a more targeted approach by calling for the censure of Brooks, who was one of the speakers pumping up the crowd at last week's Trump rally. Such a move would require a simple House majority vote and would serve as a formal rebuke of the Alabama congressman by his colleagues. The pair stopped short of calling for Brooks'. expulsion but said in a statement that his "actions endangered the lives of his fellow members of Congress, the Vice President, and the police officers who bravely tried to defend the Capitol, and he deserves at the very least the formal condemnation of the House."

Deutsche Bank rules out future business with Trump, company

German-based Deutsche Bank will halt all business with President Trump, his family and his personal businesses, Bloomberg reported.

Two officials at the bank who remained anonymous told the news outlet that the bank will not conduct further business with the president other than overseeing the repayment of existing loans totaling more than $300 million.

The news outlet also reported that New York-based Signature Bank, which on Monday publicly called for Trump's resignation, also said it would refuse Trump's business and that of any member of Congress who supported objections to the Electoral College result certification last week, a process marred by a violent riot made up of pro-Trump supporters who overtook the Capitol.

Wave of companies cut off donations — much of it to GOP

A wave of corporations on Monday said they would cut off donations to any politicians who opposed the Electoral College results, putting new pressure on Republicans to break with President Trump and end their attacks on the election.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Association said it would suspend contributions to lawmakers who “voted to undermine our democracy.” Separately, in an internal email obtained by The Hill, it said it will not give its annual contributions to the National Republican Congressional Committee, which is the House GOP’s campaign arm, or the Republican National Committee, which is led by President Trump’s hand-picked chair, Ronna McDaniel.

“At this time we are pausing all political giving to any Member who objected to the certification of the election. Also I do not want us to give our annual contributions to the NRCC or the RNC at this time — and please let me know if there are other contributions we should pause at this time,” the email said.

Marriott will be suspending donations to the GOP senators who objected to certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s victory and said it will judge other donations based on which lawmakers oversee leadership political action committees (PACs).

“[W]hile we occasionally give to leadership or other industry PACs, the majority of our contributions are directly to candidates. If someone on this list oversees a Leadership PAC, we will not support it so long as this policy is in place,” a Marriott International spokesperson told The Hill.

Oil giant BP also announced a halt in all political donations.

“The bp employee political action committee will pause all contributions for six months. During this time the PAC will reevaluate its criteria for candidate support,” the company said in a tweet.

A majority of House Republicans voted to throw out the results of Arizona and Pennsylvania. Just a handful of Senate Republicans joined them. No Democrats did so.

Multiple companies, including Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup and Mastercard, also have said they will temporarily stop making all political contributions to lawmakers of both parties.

Some GOP lawmakers said they believe that the pause in donations will be temporary.

“This is a temporary issue that will quickly disappear when corporate America sees how extreme the agenda is of the Democrats who now have complete unchecked power in Washington,” one Republican member told The Hill. “They will be running to NRCC and CLF by March or April.”

But others fear the vote could prove to have a long-term impact on the GOP’s fundraising abilities.

They say corporate donors may not shift their plans given the gravity of the attack on the Capitol. Video has made clearer with each day that police officers were violently attacked by a mob stirred up by President Trump.

Meanwhile.........on the home front:

Mar-a-Lago's Facebook page apparently hacked following riot at US Capitol
'It's pretty embarrassing,' IT expert says

PALM BEACH, Fla. — It appears the Facebook page of President Trump's private club in Palm Beach was recently hacked.

This comes after last week's riot at the U.S. Capitol where pro-Trump supporters disrupted the Electoral College certification by Congress, resulting in the deaths of five people, including a Capitol Police officer.

Photos then surfaced on Mar-a-Lago's page this weekend that showed a series of memes critical of Trump.

Below are some of the photos that were recently posted on the Mar-a-Lago Facebook page:

Alan Crowetz, CEO of Infostream and WPTV's internet security expert, said although this looks bad, it could have been much worse.

Recent Stories from wptv.com

"They're kind of lucky. There's a lot of things you can do hacking a website that can cause financial and bigger damages than just damaging someone's reputation, so this is like graffitiing someone's office building," Crowetz said.

Crowetz was surprised that the club's site was breached given past security issues at the club during Trump's tenure as president.

"How the heck hasn't there been major security review and overlook of this? I've seen news from a few years ago where they were talking about the Mar-a-Lago site and some other potential vulnerabilities out there, and it's been discussed in the past, but have they done a thorough security thing before now? Did they just wait to see if something happened or assume they were safe?" Crowetz asked. "It's pretty embarrassing."

This comes after House Democrats filed an article of impeachment Monday charging Trump with "incitement of insurrection" following the attack on the capitol.

Trump has previously said he plans to move to Mar-a-Lago after his presidency, but that has been met with opposition from local residents saying a 1993 agreement prohibits anyone from living there full time.

Mar-a-Lago neighbors say Trump can’t live there after White House
President signed 1993 agreement with town that says he cannot live at the club for more than three nonconsecutive weeks in a year

Neighbors of Donald Trump’s infamous Mar-a-Lago golf club in Palm Beach, Florida are warning the president that he cannot live at the club after he leaves the White House, following an agreement he made with the town in 1993.

In a letter to the town of Palm Beach and the US Secret Service sent this week, a lawyer representing a family that lives next to Mar-a-Lago reiterated that “Mar-a-Lago is a social club, and no one may reside on the property.”

“To avoid an embarrassing situation for everyone and to give the president time to make other living arrangements in the area, we trust you will work with his team to remind them of the use agreement parameters,” wrote Reginald Stambaugh, the lawyer.

Multiple reports indicate that Trump has already made arrangements to move to the Sunshine State: Trump’s apartment at the club is being renovated and Melania Trump is looking at Florida schools for 14-year-old Barron Trump. And while Trump was largely associated with New York City before his move to Washington, Trump shifted his domicile from New York to Florida in 2019 and voted for himself as a Florida resident this year.

The members-only club was once the residential estate of Marjorie Merriweather Post, an American socialite, up until 1985 when Trump purchased the estate with the goal of turning it into a money-making venture. Trump signed an agreement in 1993 with the local government of Palm Beach that would allow him to turn the private residence into a business so long as he followed a set of rules, including a limitation on how many days of the year Trump can live at Mar-a-Lago.

The agreement says that Trump cannot live at the club for more than three nonconsecutive weeks in a year, which does not bode well with the president’s plan to permanently move to the club once he moves out of the White House.

If Trump does move forward with plans to live at the club, he could be setting himself up for a complicated legal battle with the town. Meanwhile, the US Secret Service must make painstaking plans to arrange agents around wherever Trump decides to live as a private citizen, potentially setting the agency up with a clash between local laws and Trump’s demands.

While Mar-a-Lago’s neighbors appear friendly to Trump’s policy stances – Trump received the majority of votes from Palm Beach residents who live on the same coastal strip as the club – neighbors have indicated the town let him get away with breaking rules within the agreement over the last four years because of his role as president. All the while, residents reportedly dealt with issues around traffic, security and noise.

“It’s been a circus there for four years and they’re fed up with it,” a Palm Beach resident told CNN.

In his letter, the lawyer for the Palm Beach family hinted the town’s residents are fine with having Trump as a neighbor, just not if he chooses to live at his golf club.

“Palm Beach has many lovely estates for sale,” the letter said. “Surely he can find one which meets his needs.”

The art of the deal (gone South..............) LOL

Lesson: words and actions (or lack of them) have consequences. A lesson we AL teach our kids.

Apparently Trump never did

No, big business hasn't suddenly come to Jesus about Trump

New York (CNN Business)Corporate America has finally put its money where its mouth is -- just in time for Democrats to take control of Washington.

Last Wednesday's Capitol siege appears to have turned the president from kingmaker to radioactive. The fallout has spread to the 147 GOP lawmakers who lined up against the peaceful transfer of power.

In the past 48 hours, American Express, Marriott, Dow, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Morgan Stanley, Commerce Bank and others have suspended their donations to Republican lawmakers who objected to certifying the votes of the Electoral College. Deutsche Bank (DB) said it would no longer do business with the president. This weekend, Apple, Google and Amazon effectively wiped conservative social network Parler off the internet. And, late last week, Facebook and Twitter, the president's preferred disinformation platform, pulled the plug on him.

Even more companies are reviewing their political contributions and putting donations to both parties on hold. Many of their press releases frame the move as a defense of democracy and a commitment to their values.

"It's not a hard call for them," says Tony Fratto, who served in the George W. Bush Treasury Department and now advises companies. "This is meaningful. These companies are saying we are not going to be there for you because your actions crossed this particular line -- aid and comfort to an effort to overthrow an election."

CHAIRMAN THOMPSON: TSA AND FBI MUST ADD SUSPECTED DOMESTIC TERRORISTS TO NO-FLY LIST AND KEEP THEM OFF PLANES

(WASHINGTON) – Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, released the following statement urging the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to use their authorities to add the violent perpetrators involved in the domestic terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol yesterday to the No-Fly List and keep them off planes:

“Given the heinous domestic terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol yesterday, I am urging the Transportation Security Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to use their authorities to add the names of all identified individuals involved in the attack to the federal No-Fly List and keep them off planes. This should include all individuals identified as having entered the Capitol building—an intrusion which threatened the safety of Members of Congress and staff and served as an attack on our Nation.

“We already saw reports of ‘unruly mobs’ in air on the way to Washington, D.C. It does not take much imagination to envision how they might act out on their way out of D.C. if allowed to fly unfettered. This is an action that TSA and the FBI, by law, are able to take but, to my knowledge, have not yet taken. Alleged perpetrators of a domestic terrorist attack who have been identified by the FBI should be held accountable.”

Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley Could be Put on No-Fly List, House Homeland Security Chair Says

House Homeland Security Committee Chair Rep. Bennie Thompson has said Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Josh Hawley (R-MO) could be put on the no-fly list if they're found liable for inciting the riot at the Capitol that left five people dead.

Thompson, a Democrat representing Mississippi's 2nd congressional district, told SiriusXM's The Joe Madison Show on Monday that there would be no exception for elected officials who were found responsible for the deadly incident.

He told host Joe Madison there was "no question about" placing the Capitol rioters on the domestic no-fly list, though there is some debate about how quickly this could be done.
