(CBS4 News) WEST PALM BEACH Sources have confirmed to CBS4 News that conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been detained at Palm Beach International Airport for the possible possession of illegal prescription drugs Monday evening.

Limbaugh was returning on a flight from the Dominican Republic when officials found the drugs, among them Viagra.

Limbaugh entered a plea deal back in April in a previous case where his charge of fraud to conceal information to obtain prescriptions was dropped under the condition he continue undergoing treatment for addiction.

Limbaugh had admitted to being addicted to pain killers on his radio program and had entered a rehabilitation program prior to that arrest.

He was NOT proven innocent, he was let off the hook. The state law was quite clear... the drugs were prescribed in someone else's name..

Well then why does it say in the article, that I posted earlier, that it was legitimate.

Chief Assistant State Attorney Paul H. Zacks wrote in memo that Dr. Steven Strumwasser agreed to have his name on the label to avoid "potentially embarrassing publicity" for Limbaugh.

"Thus, the medication contained in the subject pill bottle was legitimately prescribed to the suspect by his physician," Zacks wrote in the memo.

well actually since I live in Palm Beach County I am going to speak up here. PBC isn't going to do anything they have referred the case to Miami Dade County where the prescription was written. So prosecutors in PBC aren't going to charge him that is correct. Looks like his doctor has some explaining to do.

I know what he was doing in the Dom Rep with his little blue pills, the same thing the other rich people do when they don't want to get caught with a prostitute. They go to Costa Rica, Jamaica or the Dom Rep and get laid. And that is how things are done by the rich in PBC.

And as for him be "persecuted" like the Fox is saying he got the same treatment anyone coming though CUSTOMS from out of the Country would get when found with prescription pills that didn't have his name on it. My friends that work at Customs at PBIA do this day in and day out. He was treated no differently, not at all.

Besides, I read in both Time and Newsweek that his personal life is not only lonely and miserable but rather pathetic. Must be all the hate that backs up his bowels everyday. Maybe it makes him sick.

Oh, one last thing to the few defenders on this board of ole Rushbo OxyMoron. Here's a little story for ya. I knew a guy at work one time who actually was a pretty decent guy. He was new and kinda shy and a lotta his co-workers never really got to know him during his short stay. One day there was a little discussion around the water cooler about Adolph Hitler and his policies. He listened quietly for a while then chimed in, "Yeah, he did some stupid crap but the guy was pretty smart and he really had the best interest of the country in mind." Silence then a quick disbursement. From that day on the guy was whispered about as a Nazi freak. He quit in disgrace not long after.

What I'm trying to say is if I ran up the flagpole the Swastika in my front yard I would expect to be labeled. If I flashed a picture of Hitler out of my wallet right along with the ones of my kids to people I wouldn't be surprised when people gave me odd looks.

And if I defended Hitler then calling me a Nazi would be totally appropriate and justified.

Great post Space, I listen to Air America during the day in my car and at work, at the top of hour I usually change to a WJR to get the news, will I forgot and didn't flip back and this guy comes on the air, it confused me a bit, I thought who is this idiot on Air America, all of a sudden I realized I was listening to Rush, I haven't heard his voice for years and didn't recognize him, needless to say I changed stations quickly.
