So I was reviewing my absentee ballot last night and noticed Roseanne Barr running as Presdent of the Peace Party with Cindy Sheehan as her VP - the woman is NUTS - both of them.

Cindy used to be very popular here. Although I do know of one forum where she still is very popular. Or should I say "two".

...and stories coming out where people tried to vote for Romney and machines all showed the vote for Obama...

Took them three times to "fix" the machine to record the correct vote....

makes one wonder if it recorded the errors too....

""GREENSBORO, N.C. –The presidential election is just around the corner and voting issues have already become a problem in Guilford County.

On Monday, several voters complained that their electronic ballot machine cast the wrong vote. All the complaints were made by people who voted at the Bur-Mil Park polling location.""

Hey, it didn't have to! The machine was correcting the errors, i.e. switching votes for Romney over to the 'right' candidate.

But seriously, folks, what's with these stubborn voter machine "irregularites"? I mean, it takes three go-rounds to get the darn thing to behave properly?

Of course, we can't even suggest the possibiliy of sabotage. Heavens no! That's not what Democrats do... is it? Bite your tongue!

Just like voter fraud. Don't you dare even go there. So what if they're caught on tape talking about it?

Never you mind all that! It's entrapment! Cheap tricks by a biased news media. Everyone's innocent until proven guilty - unless they're Republicans, but that goes without saying.

If there's any electoral monkey business going on, it'll be the GOP doing it, you can be sure of that.

Moran’s campaign issued a statement confirming the congressman’s son had stepped down.

“Patrick is well liked and was a well-respected member of the campaign team. This incident, however, was clearly an error in judgment. The campaign has accepted Patrick’s resignation, effective immediately,” the statement said.

The resignation comes just a day after Rep. Moran and two other Virginia Democrats — Reps. Gerry Connolly and Bobby Scott — had urged the Justice Department to launch an investigation into Strategic Allied Consulting, a GOP firm linked to separate allegations of voter registration fraud in Virginia and Florida.

so sad to say voter fraud has gone on - but kept getting hidden - yes by DEMS - for many years ... stories just kept disappearing. (probably some GOP too but have personally heard of far more connected to Dems)

ballots 'found' in car trunks after all polls are closed and counting done - when count came out for some GOP or even an independent - then oops -- oh ahh ballot box - and of course with enough DEM votes to change the outcome.

Or back some time ago - two representatives - one gop, one dem - who traveled to some voting areas to deliver more paper ballots (shortages called) and they noticed some of the same people at another voting place. (police called - large van - young people each with 4 or 5 fake IDs all voting Dem)

More votes than census list of residents (census includes minor children) one was a around 2k census with over 3+1/2K votes.

and then of course we have those who say voting fraud doesn't exist or not big enough to make any real changes.

I don't like all the references to recent history when it comes to polling..."such and such has never won when his approval rating was at this level," or whatever the rule is. It presumes we're in the same country that we were fifty, even twenty years ago.

I imagine that there's more than enough folks who do realize we're living in a different country -

That said, it wouldn't seem all too many of them are in the business of polling. OTOH, that could change, should forecasts run afoul based on 'rules' that may well have possessed some significant prognosticating power in the past.

I imagine folks on Intrade are operating on a different set of assumptions than traditional pollsters. The odds there seem to have settled at or around a 60% chance Obama will be re-elected. I'd have to say that sounds about right, at least at the moment.

Romney may have made great strides since the first debate, but as you say he ain't out of the woods yet.
