Gas dropped at the pump yesterday locally from $4.19 cash price to $3.89, hope it isn't short lived.

What, not fair, since I just filled up a few days ago I didn't get gas, there were huge lines at all the stations I passed, you guessed it Joe, those big gas guzzling SUV's.

It went up here... again.

We're now paying $4.45/gallon.

Not to sound cynical, but with the election approaching and the Repubican ties to big oil, I think we can expect to see gas prices continue to drop for the next few months.

I just hope the sheeple see through it.

HOT off presses:
Lawmakers Could Consider Gas Tax Hike, After Gas Tax Holiday Fails

Saturday, July 19, 2008

WASHINGTON — The political vision of a summer gas tax holiday died a quick death in Congress, losing to a view that federal excise taxes on gasoline and diesel fuel — far from dropping — will have to go up if they go anywhere.

(snip)

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association is calling for a 10-cent-a-gallon raise and indexing the tax to inflation.

Surprise - Surprise

The gas station down the road raised their prices last night.

On Friday it was $4.44.9
Today.... $4.49.9

And now Congress is yapping about another gas tax.

I hate them. I really do!

And I'd like to add that I have first hand knowledge of what's happening in the Arctic oilfields.

Drill well, cap the well, move rig.

Repeat.

What's really going on?

Huh?

Heard that about several oil wells up there in AK being drilled and capped. Caller to one of the radio talk shows a fw weeks back claimed that at least one of the wells was sitting on a huge field - he was one of the drillers...or knew one of the drillers (his phone connection was lousy) but he was asking why as well.

What is going on??

Morning report on reg gas -- 3.819 >3.839 on MO side - on KS side 6cents to 8 cents higher.
