I was looking around and I found this site for listening to hams on the internet. I think it's a good place to start.

Echolink allows you to listen and broadcast over your computer, but you have to be a licensed ham. Check it out at http://www.echolink.org.
There are several java shortwave receivers on the net. Before Art was back on the weekends several of us would listen to him on Jim and Leah's site.
