We have to do things in a new way”
Monday, January 5, 2009 06:49pm EST / Posted by Dan McSwain
President-elect Barack Obama held a meeting with his top economic advisors today at the Presidential transition team office in Washington D.C.
“Not only do we need to act boldly, swiftly and with sufficient magnitude to make a difference, but we also have to do things in a new way,” President-elect Obama said.
In his meeting, President-elect Obama underscored the importance of his proposed American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan to create jobs and spur the type of lasting economic change that our country needs.

Agreed, if we do things the same old way we will get the same results.
It may take some time but I think Obama is moving in the right direction.

Several of my co-workers are taking the 20th off, more than might try to arrange for New Years Day off for example, such is the excitement to witness the inauguration of Barack Obama. One is planning to travel to Washington to participate, another will be dressing up in her finest Sunday clothes to watch on her television.
I cannot help but share their excitement and will be sitting by my radio at work (hey, someone has to cover) listening to history unfold as we take a bold, overdue step in to what will hopefully be a brighter future.
May the next election not pester us for a long time to come. Savor the moment and work to make the reality of the present as successful as possible for the incoming Administration - regardless of who you supported - we will all benefit if Barack Obama is a success
