Newsweek editor-at-large Evan Thomas appeared on this weekend's edition of Inside Washington and lauded President Obama as a "brave," "great teacher" who "stands above everybody." These comments were only slightly less hyperbolic than a gushing assertion on Friday's Hardball. On that program, the journalist cooed, "I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God."...

Thomas extolled, "We're understanding what Obama is. He is the great teacher. He is this guy that stands above everybody....But, he stands above everybody and says, 'Now, listen. You people have to stop blaming each other unreasonably. You have to get along here and I am going to show you the way.'"

Maybe MSNBC should give Evan Thomas a talk show!

He seems to have abandoned the role of impartial Journalist.

A vigilant, skeptical, and questioning press is essential to safeguard our Republican system of government.

It seems to be on the verge of disappearance.

The only problem I have with the above statements is the use of "God" and "THE Great Teacher." That is some unprecedented, Chairman Mao ****. No one ever talked about the other guys like that.

Some of the stuff in the media, it is nutty it is almost an SnL moment.

Well, yah. The media hype is out of control. Probably as a scramble to boost ratings. I believe the level of this s*hit is manufactured by media, and has no basis in the real world.
