moondog thanks for the heads up on your local show, I live in the Detroit area and have spent many weekends in Toronto.....love it there, since I don't listen to Coast during the week and only Art, Knapp and sometimes Ian would be cool to have an alternative, especially earlier, us East Coasters have to sleep sometime.:) I listen to Art on CKLW 800 AM out of Windsor, big monster. Let me check out the site, they do stream right?

His story is unique, and fascinating.

From Wikipedia:

Moondog was the pseudonym of Louis Thomas Hardin (May 26, 1916–September 8, 1999), a blind American composer, musician, cosmologist, poet, and inventor of several musical instruments. Although these achievements would have been considered extraordinary for any blind person, Moondog further removed himself from society through his decision to make his home on the streets of New York for approximately twenty of the thirty years he spent in the city. Only in the final decades of Moondog's life did the public begin to appreciate the extent of this man's talents, primarily because of his stubborn refusal to wear anything other than his own home-made clothes, all based on his own interpretation of the Norse god Thor. Indeed, he was known for much of his life as 'The Viking of 6th Avenue'.

well thats something right there. the norse or vikings are amazing, he must have had a connection with the norse gods. everyone has a little viking in them since they practically conquered most of europe heh.

theres also a comic strip called monty, its about a guy who lives with a hairless cat, a alin, a time traveller, and has a buddy named moondog, who owns a parrot named pilsner. its a hillarous comic strip, i check it on yahoo comics. its funny.
