My Great Grandfather's family used to own a large amount of property there. Still we have a lot of family there.

What's the latest Status Art on Aryn?

Has there been any further response from the INS?

I hope your whole family can return home to our country soon. I hope our country will quickly evolve into one which you would really want to spend the rest of your lives. Of course traveling whenever and wherever you wish.

From Art

Post by Art Bell » 08-07-2009 03:57 AM

Hi all,

Tired of Typhoons. As I speak the latest Typhoon
has passed the Philippines and is about to hit Taiwan
then visit China. We have had more rain in the last
five Months then I have seen in my life, virtually every
day.

Otherwise the World is well for the Bells. I think I will
do a show on the last day of the Month.

We will fly to Guam in a Week or so and step on American
soil and visit the beaches there.

Airyn indeed recieved her green card just fine and that
chapter is closed.

Just wanted to say hi from the other side of the World.

Hey Art! Good to hear from you! (I'm probably the only Pirate still up and onboard at this hour, so you get your first 'hi' back from me ;) )

Glad to hear that the green card issue was resolved!

And I'm sooooo glad to hear that you may do a show at the end of the month! I'll be looking forward to it.

Thanks for checking in with us. :)

Much love to you and yours...

Hi Art. Glad to hear all is well. Except for the monotony of the typhoons.

Have a question for you. How do you handle language around home with Asia? Do you folks speak primarily English at home with Tagalog as a second language? Does Asia mix them together, or how does learning two languages for the very young go?

Studies indicate our 'inner language' is the language we first learn - the language we think in, and dream in. Language also sets up our perceptions of the world - and colors our 'world view'.

To give an example from Benjamin Whorf of 'linguistic relativity'. In English the concept 'I threw the ball' - is contrasted with the Hopi language 'force X took the ball from my hand'. It's a difference in perception which colors 'reality'. Have not done any studies of Tagalog as to verb, noun, sentence structure - and so on to make any informed comparisons.

Have not looked at any studies on how this is done - or what is most advisable for children as far as learning patterns in multi-language situations.

In any case, I imagine Asia is now talking up a storm - and probably asking lots of questions - as children begin to do at her age.
;)

What are some of her personality traits, and do you have any stories to share? Children are so fascinating, and it is a delight to watch them learn and explore.

Hi Art :),

It is great to hear from you.

I am glad that everything is going well for you, Airyn, and Asia.

I miss hearing you on the radio and hope you are able to broadcast more often. I very much look forward to hearing your show at the end of the month.

I was delighted that Airyn's immigration problem was finally resolved. I know that was a great relief to the both of you.

Always remember that you are truly loved. Please take care and as always I wish you, Airyn, and Asia the very best.
