has anyone ever done this????
this allows you to access pay sites 4 free
Ever wondered why a google search returned search results that lead to sites that require a registration ? How the hell did googlebot index the site without a registration ? Many sites want their site indexed in google to recieve more hits and thus, make more money with advertisment on their site. Even more interesting is the following question: How do we use this to our advantage ?
Its fairly easy, we have to disguise ourselfs as the google bot and voila, many sites let us in without registration. The parameter we have to change is called the User Agent. The user agent defines the browser and version that you use. For example it would show Internet Explorer as your browser if you are using this one.
You need to alter your settings to the following:
User Agent: Googlebot/2.1
Compatible: http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html
You can do so in Opera with ease. Firefox offers an extension which is downloadable from the official website.
For Internet Explorer you need to change registry entries.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInternet Settings5.0User Agent] @="Googlebot/2.1" "Compatible"="+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html"
Save this as ua.reg and execute.
To revert the changes back, you need the following:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInternet Settings5.0User Agent] @="Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)"
Save as oua.reg and execute.
im not sure how affective this is, has anyone tried it before???

Due to current economic conditions the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.

Trust is the key to relationships
Clark Howard suggested a free anti-virus program on his new afternoon television show. I downloaded it, but they want $40 to run it. If I don't like it, I can get a refund in thirty days.
There are 1148 issues that need to be fixed. If I have to pay $40 to run it the first time, it is not free. Shame on you, Clark Howard.

I guess he's changed his show since I caught it 2-3 years ago. I thought he was a consumer advocate and would even use his media muscle to get people out of such scams.. This seems to be the opposite.cherry wrote: Clark Howard suggested a free anti-virus program on his new afternoon television show. I downloaded it, but they want to run it. Cherry, if you are on Windows, just download Microsoft Security Essentials. Free and works great - made for and by Windows. Between that and keeping your system updated, not clicking email links and other common-sense net practices you should be fine. If you are certain you are infected with malware or would like a second scan, I recommend Malware Bytes.
But if you are infected, the only sure way to get a clean system doesn't involve scanning..you need to backup your data, reformat your hard drive then reinstall Windows and your apps.
