Goto to this site and enter your address... it will show a "house" (yours)...all the little colored boxes are convicted sex offenders in your area. It differentiates between whether the victim(s) were children or adults. Click on a colored box and you get a name, address & picture of the person along with his crime.

Thanks for the link....

Unfortunately they haven't uploaded my state yet.

I hope the delay doesn't mean there is a lot of 'colored boxes' that they have to map out!!!

I wonder if you guys know what's going on in Iowa.

They just recently passed a law prohibiting convicted child-molesters from living within 2000 feet of a school, day care or playground. Since every town in Iowa is within 2000 feet of a school, day care or playground...

...they're all moving to Nebraska. So Nebraska is now passing legislation prohibiting convicted child molesters from living within 2000 feet of a school, day care or playground...

...which means that eventually, they'll all have to move to Antarctica.

There are of course the apologists. But for the most part, we're lovin' it.

:)

I was surprised at the number of people in our area convicted of crimes. Punch in 1224 Rice Avenue, Lima OH 45805 and you can see.

What's even more disturbing is the estimate for any criminal...that the number actually convicted of a crime is at least 1/10th the number of criminals performing each crime. 130 in Lima are registered...which means 130x10=1,300!

So I guess all of us law abiding citizens are the minority. What a world!

Makes you wonder, huh? Where are you at? I'm over by Cable and Allentown, and have one just about .5 miles away.

Yes, thanks Fred. Good post - excellent site. Especially those with children. A half mile? That's nothing. There's a red square .o6 miles from our house and at least 6 or 7 within a half mile of various colors.

As was pointed out, there are more of these guys around, just not convicted to the point where they appear on the map.

In talking to a cop friend, he told me of one guy who was involved in videotaping minor children, as well as substance distribution. The perp claimed that it was just his first time, but the video equipment he had showed a usage in excess of 1,500 hours. Somehow, he only had his name on the map for 12 months.

To me, if someone does something like this they need to either do long jail time or renounce citizenship and never return to U.S. soil. I'm thinking northern Greenland might be an appropriate spot.

You are much too kind Fred. If there's ever been a crime whose perpetrator deserves "An eye for an eye", this is it. They should suffer at least double what their victims did. Better yet, base the amount of punishment directly on the ratios of the molester and his victim's weights. He weighs 150lbs and the child weighs 50lbs. then he gets three times the usual child-molester punishment standard voltage applied to his nether-regions for three times as long. His prison sentence and time till parole is tripled. Then he gets killed three times. Well, almost killed twice then executed. And his headstone marked appropriately.

Many abused kids never recover and battle daily to cope with those psychological scars and memories.

Out of the country? Its not real tough getting back in here now, is it?
