Audie Murphy should never be forgot. But do young folks know him from Adam? At the rate things are going these days he'd be as welcome as a Confederate statue - 'We're living in the worst of times'? Try living during the Great Depression & WWII

IMHO instead of filling their heads with anti-American commie claptrap, you know what movie should be required viewing in public schools? - Audie's To Hell & Back, the story of one of the all-time heroic greats of America's Greatest Generation -

FULL MOVIE

Of course it'll happen over Woke folks' dead bodies. (Just a figure of speech... I'm not advocating their demise. But they'd be glad if 'deplorables' all dropped dead)
A mind should not be so open that the brains fall out; however, it should not be so closed that whatever gray matter which does reside may not be reached. ART BELL

OMGosh Riddick! We're FF deplorable friends for life! :D

Audie towed HIS movie "To Hell and Back'" directors lines but he was not happy doing so. Twenty years later the blockbuster 1975 movie "Jaws" finally out gro$$ed 1955's "To Hell and Back" for Universal International pictures!

Audie's movie should have been a hair raising one hour longer and I won't say why. But it should be obvious the M10 Tank Destroyer dba Hellcat or Wolverine was omitted for the M4A1 Sherman.

https://military.wikia.org/wiki/M10_tank_destroyer

Scroll down to "Combat use" and at the bottom you can read a notation of Audie's disappointment that the M10 was substituted for the M4! :o :(

By 1955 he was a veteran actor knowing, like his military training implied over and over, a soldier had to follow the orders of his superiors. But during the making of his heroic war exploits he was wholly superior to his producer and director!

Going by the book was not part of the movie producer's budget! :realmad:

Holtzwihr2015 coming soon annual French citizens tribute at Audie's memorial site of the M-10. His personal, burning, steel redoubt in 1945!😥 I'll be back!
