The CIA Accidentally Sent At Least $1 Million To Al Qaeda In

Post by Riddick » 03-16-2015 11:20 PM

No well laid trap, the C.I.A.’s contribution to Qaeda’s bottom line was just another in a long list of examples of how the U.S., largely because of poor oversight and loose financial controls, has sometimes inadvertently financed the very militants it is fighting. FULL STORY

Are you surprised by this? Some would argue that ISIS is a US creation.

In any event, the $1 million figure pales in comparison to the $1 million PER DAY that ISIS receives from oil and drug sales.........

How ISIS is funded by black-market oil trading, illegal drugs and internet cafes

The Islamic State is being funded by black-market oil trading, illegal drugs and internet cafes, a local activist group has claimed.

The group claims that the most important financial resources of ISIS-controlled areas in Syria are secret deals with the Assad regime to sell the government electricity and gas from dams controlled by the militants.

The Islamic State is also imposing strict taxes on its citizens, charging for electricity, phone bills and customs on imported goods, anti-ISIS activist group Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently reports.

Unlike the core al-Qaeda terrorist network, ISIS gets only a small share of funding from deep-pocket donors and therefore does not depend primarily on moving money across international borders.

Despite several attempts by the coalition forces to cut off funding to the Islamic State militants, the organisation continues to thrive and find independent ways to create capital

Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently(RBSS) is a small activist collective which secretly documents the shocking violence and oppression ISIS has brought to their home city.

In its most recent report on ISIS's funding, RBSS outlines ten ways the militants fund their crusade to create a Muslim caliphate.

The group claims that ISIS and the Syrian government has struck a secret deal which enables the militants to sell electricity and gas to the Assad regime.

The Islamic State controls several important dams as well as a gas field in its occupied areas of Syria.

TEN WAYS THE ISLAMIC STATE IS MAKING MONEY

1. Sales of electricity and gas to the Syrian government through ISIS-controlled dams and gas fields.

2. Taxes on citizens of the Islamic State

3. Customs revenue on import and export of goods in the caliphate

4. Exporting goods such as fruits, vegetables, grains and fabrics

5. Internet cafes

6. Religious taxes – punishment for smokers, missing prayers and breaking sharia law

7. Confiscating private lands and selling it on public auction

8. Selling crude oil on the black market in Turkey

9. Growing and selling drugs and black market cigarettes and alcohol

10. Looting museums and selling artefacts on the black market

Even though the citizens of Raqqa and Islamic State live under strict sharia law, ISIS leaders appear to have no qualms about growing and selling illegal drugs to others, with cannabis being grown on the outskirts of the city to be sold on to Turkey.

The report also reveals details of the of taxes and fines imposed on citizens of Raqqa, ISIS's 'de facto' capital.

This includes flat-rate taxes on electricity, 'hygiene services' and use of the telephone network, paid in cash to ISIS's very own revenue agency, called Al Hisba, as well as customs on imported and exported goods.

Another interesting source of income is Internet cafes, which RBSS calls 'one of the most profitable trades for ISIS'.

The number of internet cafes in Raqqa has increased from 20 to 500 since the Islamic State came to power, according to the group.

As reported by the U.S. Treasury Department last year, ISIS is earning about $1million a day from black market oil and fuel sales by using primitive ways of extracting crude oil from fields in ISIS-controlled areas of Iraq and Syria.

Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently also lists fines on breaking sharia law by smoking or being late to prayer, looting and selling historical artefacts and confiscating private land from locals who disagree with the ways of the caliphate and selling it at public auction.

they directly aid them, we know that, it is just not fully admitted yet. This is part of the let-it-slip-slowly thing they do to lessen the impact of the news.

They admit everything 10 years later when no one remembers.

The, of course, you have stuff like this........

Senate Committee Launches Investigation Into Obama Effort to Oust Netanyahu

According to a FOX News report, a powerful U.S. Senate investigatory committee has launched a bipartisan probe into an American nonprofit’s funding of efforts to oust Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the Obama administration’s State Department gave the nonprofit taxpayer-funded grants, a source with knowledge of the panel's activities told the news agency.

The fact that both Democratic and Republican sides of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations have signed off on the probe could be seen as a rebuke to President Obama, who has had a well-documented adversarial relationship with the Israeli leader.

The development comes as Netanyahu told Israel’s Channel Two television station this week that there were “governments” that wanted to help with the “Just Not Bibi” campaigning -- Bibi being the Israeli leader’s nickname.

It also follows a FOX News report on claims the Obama administration has been meddling in the Israeli election on behalf of groups hostile to Netanyahu. A spokesperson for Sen. Rob Portman, Ohio Republican and chairman of the committee, declined comment, and aides to ranking Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill, of Missouri, did not immediately return calls.

The Senate subcommittee, which has subpoena power, is the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs’ chief investigative body with jurisdiction over all branches of government operations and compliance with laws.

According to a report that appeared on INN, several weeks ago an Israeli court dismissed a petition to investigate the “Victory15” (V15) campaign for inappropriate campaign financing. The V15 is a coordinated campaign with ties to the US State Department. Its main objective is defeating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the polls as his bid for re-election draws near.

Speculation abounds that the V15 group whose campaign slogan is: “Anybody but Bibi” was sent to Israel at the behest of the Obama administration in order that Netanyahu does not serve another term as the nation’s leader. Because of the public animus that Obama has overtly displayed towards Netanyahu over the course of the last six years combined with the president’s anger over Netanyahu’s historic address before congress on March 3rd on the existential dangers that a deal with Iran over their burgeoning nuclear program would represent.

Seems like the 40s, 50s, 60s all over again - just a different cast of characters.

I think that the Democrats have potentially lost a large voting bloc. Thanks Obama

And then this........

Pentagon loses track of $500 million in weapons, equipment given to Yemen

The Pentagon is unable to account for more than $500 million in U.S. military aid given to Yemen, amid fears that the weaponry, aircraft and equipment is at risk of being seized by Iranian-backed rebels or al-Qaeda, according to U.S. officials.

With Yemen in turmoil and its government splintering, the Defense Department has lost its ability to monitor the whereabouts of small arms, ammunition, night-vision goggles, patrol boats, vehicles and other supplies donated by the United States. The situation has grown worse since the United States closed its embassy in Sanaa, the capital, last month and withdrew many of its military advisers.

In recent weeks, members of Congress have held closed-door meetings with U.S. military officials to press for an accounting of the arms and equipment. Pentagon officials have said that they have little information to go on and that there is little they can do at this point to prevent the weapons and gear from falling into the wrong hands

Boy, we're just destabilizing the whole region, now aren't we?

Thanks Obama........:realmad:

Several years ago, just on a whim and opportunity, I went to see
Dinish D'Souza's "2016". It was very good. Then I forgot about it, untill of late.
I don't know how he knew, but he laid out just what O wants in the mid-east. And there it is. If you get a chance beg, borrow or buy the dvd. It will also become quite clear why O insists on calling the terriorists ISIL. :)

Watching the results of the Israeli election - of all the world's major countries' leaders, only Obama has refused to congratulate Netanyahu on his party's victory in the recent elections.

Nice way to treat an ally........

Rep Pelosi's turning her back on Netanyahu during his speech before Congress was bush-league as well.

I guess they'd both rather have a terrorist leader in charge.
