The following documentary, Before Stonewall (1984), is dirty, shameful, perverted, indecent, disrespectable, and subversive. You should be deeply ashamed of yourself for even thinking of viewing it, and if it turns you into a sexual invert, well, you know what they will do to you, sooner or later, don’t you? Besides, since none of these things ever could have happened in the first place, why should anybody be allowed to find out anything about them? And oh, be sure not to miss who makes a cameo appearance in the very first minute of the documentary…

I was fairly oblivious to all this, thanks for all the history. Joe.

1969 I was doing a cameo in a film with the Whiz Kids (a transvestite theatre group in Seattle) and the San Francisco based Cockettes. I was so oblivious to the struggle.

And regarding the Moscone-Milk murders...

I do not think that we really understand what happened there. Although many people would like to cover the connection up, the fact of the matter is that Mayor Moscone knew Jim Jones real well and worked with him closely on many projects before he fled to Guyana --- and mass suicide. It is commonly realized now that Jonestown was quite possibly an MK-ULTRA experiment and that Jim Jones himself was a CIA contract agent. The Moscone-Milk murders, following so very closely upon the Jonestown Massacre, have never struck me as an accidental coincidence. And if both operations were CIA-orchestrated, then it is no surprise, no surprise whatsoever, that Dan White got off so lightly with his "Twinkie defense."

I'm actually with you on the Jonestown connection Joe, I've done quite a bit of reading on it. Milk and Moscone were not the only politicians connected to Jim Jones who were assassinated as I recall.

I laughed and said, "Oh, so I guess that makes you a pussy", smiled at him (the look on his face was priceless) and the cop who burst out laughing and went right on back to marching in the parade, hehe :D

That post was in incredibly poor taste. get it? get it? hehe

I didn't know the People's Temple and Jones had so much political clout at the time. But I was pretty young when the massacre happened and I just saw the Temple as another nutty cult. Apparently that's what I was supposed to believe.

My, my! Lucian Truscott did the op-ed piece in The New York Times on Thursday, 25 June, about the Stonewall Riots:

And a most interesting interview with gay scholar Martin Duberman about the great internal dangers to the gay movement at the present time:

Stonewall is like the crazy old aunt that you keep up in the attic: you can't throw her out onto the street, but you don't like to mention her when visitors come to call. All the same, Stonewall, my friends, ain't goin' away...

Meanwhile, back up in Bridgeport, they are casting out "homosexual demons" from teen-aged boys:

That's the answer why all those gay people are attacking us --- the devil made them do it!

That video is disgusting.

I think the reason I wasn't aware until my later in my twenties how political the gay community had become and their struggle for equal rights, is that from 1962 on I was surrounded by gay men. My father owned a wholesale florist warehouse and many of his customers were gay, and several of his staff. His floor manager was a tranny (although the agreement was he dressed appropriately for the floor:p ) and I just thought everyone was surrounded by these wonderfully caring and delightfully creative individuals. At the Christmas Open House (held in October...florists are too exhausted to actually celebrate holidays themselves) most would bring their partners and my mother would be in her glory. She was friends with alot of these guys, held symphony tickets with a couple and traveled (including to Rio for Carnival) with one couple. I just never thought these guys were any different and many of them made great "uncles" to a creative little girl. I had to growup to understand how difficult their lives were in the "real world".

Thanks for the heads-up, Shirleypal. I tried to provide as much information as possible in my typical tongue-in-cheek manner. I know that most people on The Fantastic Forum don't read my posts, but I write for those who do. :D :D :D

Shirleypal and SetisLady, at the time when the Warren Commission was covering up the coup d'etat that brought the fascists to power in the United States, Allen Dulles, one of the top conspirators, was asked how the Warren Commission Report was going to handle all of the incredible inconsistencies of information that were going to be placed in the appendices. The questioner was really worried that somebody would get wise to what was going on.

But Dulles was unfazed: "the American people don't read." Dulles knew that, outside of a couple of harmless eggheads, nobody would care what happened until it was too late to do anything about it. And Dulles was absolutely right...

I recently heard Peter Davenport on the Jeff Rense Show talk about the same thing. Whenever he goes to a UFO convention, people ask him what is happening in the UFO field and/or they try to tell him what experiences they have had. And Davenport says to them, "I can't tell you what's presently going on --- why don't you go to my website and find out for yourself? And I don't want you to tell me your experiences --- why don't you write them up and send them to the website for everybody to read?" And when Davenport says this, people tell him --- right to his face --- that they are too busy to do either...

Most people here on The Fantastic Forum do not like the subjects that I choose to discuss, do not like what I say about them, and do not like the way in which I say them. This has been obvious to me, for years now. But I continue to stay and continue to write for those who do like the topics I pick, who do want to know what I may think about them (even if they don't end up agreeing with me on them), and who respect the way in which I phrase myself.

The problem with The Fantastic Forum is nothing more and nothing less than the problem with mainstream Amerikan society, period, in the last days of the 'Merikan Empire. That wasn't the case in the spring of 2000 when The Fantastic Forum came into being. The Internet was not the mass medium that it is today, and the people who founded The Fantastic Forum were not representative of the Amerikan population in general (thank God!). There is absolutely no longer any difference --- no difference whatsoever --- between the problems that I face in virtual reality with The Fantastic Forum and the problems that I face in material reality with flesh-n-blood people: the two sets of problems are now merely different aspects of the same problem. And the problems are getting worse and worse with every passing year.

Yes, I say, constantly, that "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is --- a freak!" But freak though he may be, the one-eyed man can still see...

But meanwhile, back to the Riots... :D :D :D

Joe, for what it's worth, I want to thank you for this thread and all of the information and links contained therein. It's been a great education, or re-education. I especially enjoyed the YouTube links to "Before Stonewall," which is a terrific documentary.
