7/7/07 Live Earth Concert
Moderator: Super Moderators
Now that the concerts are over... there's work to be done...
Did you sign the Pledge?
Did you measure your environmental impact?
If you're in an urban area, have you checked to see if your city is involved in implementing solutions to the climate crisis?
Are you making changes in YOUR life to help solve the climate crisis?
Just thought I'd ask...

My family:
-owns a hybrid
-uses only energy saving bulbs
-recycle everything we can
-let our grass go brown when in a drought
-use restrictive shower heads and limit -shower time.
-bought energy saving appliances and computer.
-use scratch paper for kids to draw on.
-use newspaper for gift wrapping and shred old documents for gift bags.
-fill bottles with water and fill freezer so that it is more efficient.
-wash only full loads and air dry when we have time
-prays daily that we are good stewards of the Earth.
-We encourage friends and family to do the same.
Our children are worth it…so are everybody else’s.
Oh I DVR’d the show I’ll see if I can make a copy of the show to pass along.
PS Joolz...you rock!
9 tons and trying to lower that even more..

The best way to help Global Warming is get rid of those in Washington that are thinking with their pockets and not doing whats right for America. There is a word for that he said, Treason ! I will see all of you at the barricades.

Joolz good question, this is what we are doing Vigo, thanks for sharing what your family is doing with us !

- Water heater set at 120
- turn off all appliances when not in use
- recycle
- Buy eco friendly cleaning products as well as other products that are biodegradable
- walk whenever possible (good for the enviroment and good for the health)
- Like vigo, don't water the grass
- Purchase Energy Star appliances
- weatherize my home yearly
- Use CFL lighting

And heres the other half of her set !!
" I need to Wake up ! "

I think the site is getting slammed right now with traffic so this one take a little bit to load. You may have to keep trying.

Thanks, Linda! Was just going to post these!
Note: I think you need to open IE for this because MSN has it configured to work right only in IE.
Also, I got the first video to load, but only by using the direct link like Linda posted above. Trying to get there from the main MSN Live Earth site crashed the browser.
It's shaky and buffers a lot, but it played.
BUT... When the second video tried to load (BTW, it should begin to load as soon as the first one finishes, but it will look like it cuts out in the middle of the song because she doesn't break between the two songs), it buffered and buffered and buffered, then, I got this message:
"We are experiencing technical difficulties presenting your show. Please check your connection and try again later. We will continue your show from the last viewing point." with an "OK" button to click.
From what I understand, damn near EVERYONE is having this same experience, but ONLY with THIS video.
Interesting... My HOPE is that their server is SWAMPED.

Aw, thanks, vigo! This is just THE issue for me. If we don't do something about this, nothing else is really gonna matter, is it? But it's all tied up together, like RFK, Jr. told us yesterday.
BTW, I'd LOVE to have a copy of the show if you can manage it. I'd pay you for it! (Check my profile...)
I'll make a post later about what we are, and have been, doing to help...
Thanks to vigo, SL, and Shirley for your responses to my "questions." It's great to enjoy the concerts, but it's the message behind them that is most important. IMO...
