Hey, howdy blue planet denizens! How's it going? ....Relatively speaking.
"What really interests me is whether God had any choice in the creation of the world."
Einstein sends his regards...

Dunno but I thought He had all options available at all times...
By world I assume you mean our Earth...
In our physical reality, our plane of existence, The Earth would not be without the creation of our solar system. Our solar system is a child of the Milky Way Galaxy, which all sprang, theoretically, from The Big Bang - the birth of The Universe.
So did God have any choice in starting the whole process...?
I dunno Captain...ya' might hafta' ask His Wife...or His Mommy...or His God?

don't forget love...
If your talking about the singular God that is above the multiple Gods then all you really need to know is that Love is the Key.
The love of life brought both together in the current ways that we know today.
As for the rest of the Universe, well, Love isn't automatic. Love takes some work.
Once the decision was made to share, their was no turning back.
God wants Love just as much as we do.
(thats a lovely little though, isn't it?)

Thats a really great food for thought question, and I can only answer for myself, so here goes.
Yes, I think God had a choice, and chose the whole of creation with its infinite expansion, and chose us to experience it through. I think Einstein thought that too. I dunno, maybe he aught to have to come back here and tell us. LOL
