____Addressing a grand rally in Beijing to mark the 50th founding anniversary of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, Hu recalled the failures of China's bourgeois republic system established by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and various forms of political systems introduced into old China.
____The president described the people's congress system as a great invention of integrating the basic principles of Marxism with the actual conditions of China, a natural choice of China's social development since modern times, and an important achievement in the long-term struggle of the Chinese people of all ethnic groups under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC)."

Well, that depends on what they're trying to do.
If what they want is to have a servile, sleeping nation of people who think they are "free" and have a voice, then they *would* do well by copying western political systems.

I think monoply power in media that has been building since the 70s has really done a lot of harm to freedom in the west.
Think about it, the GREAT TV shows that existed around 62 to 65, EVERYTHING has been down hill ever since and the media monopolies began to become appearant in the early 70s.
Those monopolies and the dumbing down of America has gone hand in hand.
