Post by Rombaldi » 11-28-2004 08:30 PM

Right now XM is running a promotion thru their 'friends and family' group..

You can get an

XM SkyFi2 + a car kit for $49 (BestBuy Price $199)

XM SkyFi2 + a home kit for $49 (BestBuy Price $199)

XM SkyFi2 + a boombox for $69 (Bestbuy Price $229)

conditions..

1) you have to prepay 90 days of service @ $9.99

2) you must keep the unit activated for 6 months or it's a $60 chargeback

You CAN buy multiple units (ie. SkyFi+Car & SkyFi+Boombox).

After the 90 days of prepaid service, you can merge them into an existing account for the 'Family Play' ( 1st receiver is $9.99/mo, add'l are $6.99)

If you want the URL with the details and ordering page, drop an email to me

Hi Rombaldi-

Know of any similar deals for Sirius?

ps: What is the name of the website you told me about a while ago that lists all the upcoming dvd releases? I think I had it saved in my pm's somewhere, but I can't get to them. I bought season 2 of Northern Exposure today ($37.99 on sale @ Best Buy). The 4400 will be out on the 21st, but I'm sure you already knew that.

Hey cosmicswirl! Good seeing you. :)

I can't help with the Sirius stuff (heh, the story of my life) but I always use videoeta.com for checking any new release - DVD or when it'll be in theaters. They have a pretty well maintained database. Hope this helped. Image

cosmicswirl

there is a deal somewhere for Sirius, you can get a free car unit (byobb) but you have to prepay a YEAR of service ($150ish). With the XM deal you are only committed to 6 months ($60).

I ordered another SkyFi2/Car and SkyFi2 kit on the 23th, was delivered today...

Let us know how you like it. I would like to order one of the portables, and send it to my brother and let him use it until I can get hold of it. Please keep us posted. Thanks.

XM radio is fantastic

i use it at home and couldn't be happier

it completely blows away just listening to local radio stations or your own collection (unless you're some guy with millions of CDs or something).

you get over 200 stations of just about any kind of music you could possible want. If you like rock, country, etc... you don't get just 1 or 2 channels...you get 5-10 or so of each that should fit whatever your taste is.

actually just counted and there are 14 rock channels. everything from older stuff to hard metal and alternitive etc...

kids, news, sports, talk, latin, world, classical, and the list just goes on...

What does "byobb" mean?

Thanks for the link Dale. (BTW, just as I stuck an unexpectedly sour piece of dried mango into my mouth, in the very same instant I noticed your avatar. We were chewing in synch. Ha! ):D

These are my THIRD and FOURTH XM's (with the family plan, after the 1st three months, they'll cost $1.75/week).

I can't recommend XM Highly enough (and you get George/Art, with replays... and you can't get them on Sirius).

Bring Your Own BoomBox :) The Sirius deal doesn't offer that for 'in home' listening.

As I said in earlier message.. XM has George/Art (with REPLAYS all week).. Sirius don't.

And if that's not enough :D XM has Doctor Demento also :D

I took the bait and sent for a XM boombox. Can't wait to get it. Getting the Dr. Demento Show sold it for me. I haven't heard that show since I was in high school and that's been.........a long time ago;)
Thanks for sharing Rombaldi!
