Time Traveler Caught in 1941 Photo?

It would be interesting to find out what sort of eye protection was worn by Sir Edmond Hillary or other climbers of the first half century. I have a pair that are of some age but are leather and appear to be more designed for sand protection rather than glare.

Agreed. I tried blowing up that portion, too, but it didn't reveal any more detail, so that is still inconclusive for me, too.

But, here's a blown-up crop of the guy's face and the sunglasses. They definitely aren't wrap-arounds. They just have a shield on the side. Is this what you were talking about, megman?

Looks faked to me. Especially due to the angularity and direction of the shadowing on the face and neck.

Joolz and Megman did impressve research showing that the photo was appropriate to the time.

I enjoyed this thread more than many recently, and wanted to thank PW for starting it.

I had great fun following it.

And I happen to still be a member of the small minority who believes John Titor was the real deal, and somewhere in the Multiverse, I believe he is out there.

Furious is a very intense emotion for a simple misunderstanding. If you read your posts over the past week or so, it's not much of a stretch to see how a such a misunderstanding could occur.

Previously you were merely angry, but now are furious. Was that a sudden leap, or just a general ratcheting up.

This all seems a bit off to me.

My apologies.

I was interested, and wanted to see what the camera looked like close-up, hence my research into that. I just reported what I saw and thought about it.

I am also one who thinks there may be some merit to the John Titor story -- it is at least intriguing to me -- but I don't think this is really related to that. This is just some isolated anomaly, IMO. And I do think it is likely that the man in this photo, while unusual for his time, was not a time traveler. I note that he is also younger than most of the other people in the photo, so that may account for some of the differences we are seeing in his appearance.

Someone has been nasty to Racehorse, other than Rom? Rom and Race have their own thing going I don't get involved.
