Re: The answer is no

By the second hour, George usually trots out his favorite "angel" or "devil" questions (which are mostly absurd). This is apparently just to eat up time. It could be any subject, and he will bore/floor the guest with one of his stock angel/devil questions that take no prior thought: ("Mr. Lipton, do you think the devil has anything to do with this suppression of your biological work?").

The first hour is the most telling. George really has no real personality that he wishes to share with the audience. So he labors through the news, and a few phone calls, which makes the hour seem like an hour longer, because it's so unmemorable.

George is self-conscious, and that's really why he's so guarded, and why his questions are so blah and bland and have no REAL personality. (They call talk hosts with this unfortunate disorder 'lightweights.') I notice the way George asks questions is designed to make them look sharper and more profound than they really are. He always sounds like he takes a deep breath, and follows through with all sorts of highs and lows in his voice. But since the question itself is so poopy, all that extra effort is obscene.

Holy crap! You just said exactly how I feel about Georgie. I mean, a dead-ringer. It's EXACTLY how he is.

Hell, if I had the money, *I* would run an internet talk show, and bring it back to the roots--open lines. I am much like Art--in that I share everything with the folks on my website and forum (Ironworks Forum) and just have laid back conversations with my members, and we know each other well. I am very anti-corporate, and like to do everything myself. Because 'the suits upstairs' usually screw stuff up, and have no idea what their user-base is like, what they enjoy etc.. so disconnected. So when Art ran things, HE controlled everything. HE knew what folks wanted, and that was; him being him. He listened to us.

Art was/is extremely intelligent. That I picked up on right away, and enjoyed. I don't want to waste my time listening to some simpleton *cough* *Georgie* *cough* because I value my time.

Art did all the bumper music lineups, and tons of other stuff. Art KNEW how things ran. Was an older guy, but was sharp for new technologies, and PC's--knew how to fix them. I'm the same way. :) I also loved how he did it from his home, because that is exactly how I'd do it. :D

Art is 'real', and you CAN feel the difference. I did test out a program called Shoutcast, and I ran some music, talked, and was surprised to get some really good feedback on it--I do have a deep voice, so I guess that helps. But it was fun... Just don't have a bank of phone lines. lol

I stopped listening to C2C in July--minus when Art returned for Ghost to Ghost, which I paid for 1 Month-- and let me tell you, THAT was serious for me to do that. HUGE! I mean... I've listened since 1994-ish, and always looked forward to the shows.

Not now. And when you know that feeling, and others share that feeling, it means the show has lost its spark. I am sad really...

Sorry for the ramblings.. Just sucks to see this flake ruin Art Bell's creation.

You know, I've been trying to listen to the weekly show more regularly, and think George is great guy, a caring guy, and he just wants us all to be safe.......

I wonder if this has anything to do with my shrink doubling the dose of my anti-psychotics lately?.......

George's Thanksgiving C2C show on November 21/22 was condescending to the regular Coast listeners. It felt like you were taking this "magic " show to the children's ward as an act of charity.

I'd rather you play bumper music all night long on Thanksgiving Eve. I'd rather listen to "The Best of ________" than feel like I'm a charity case.

An intellectual interview is the way to go. There are so many C2C guests who would give up their precious time with their loved ones to carry the message of freedom including Alex Jones. :o

You can do better!

At first I was willing to give the show a chance, I don't mind George at times trying something differnet, it being the day before Thanksgiving, to have a nice and easy show. The show was just on network TV and talking about it with the actual finalists, I didn't mind it.

But I thought George hosting job was horrible and annoying that night. Him playing the most obnoxious magic participant got on my nerves with his constant "this must be trick!" and lets not even talk about him trying to break down the guest site by telling people to go. What a forced ego power trip. (and I'm not as harsh to George like most here are) I thought the guests on the show were actually were the best thing about that show, at least they came off as friendly and real.

I thought that show was going to be the lowlight of George's week, then good ol' George come with the Glenn Beck infomercial totally unannouced in the last half hour of Friday night's open lines. Not insulting enough to put this guy in the final spot of open lines, but it was an obvious pre-taped interview. So he didn't even have the respect to stay up to do the interview. He did his normal afternoon radio Neocon act "The rich has it tough, the poor are lazy" which I think goes against a lot of "Nice guy" George's beliefs. George didn't take him to task or anything, didn't interview, heck didn't even have much of a discussion. He just let Glenn promote his book and thoughts and George replies with vague "Something has to be done".

After the interview George as GK comes back live he says "He doesn't agree with everything that Glenn says, but it's important to give him a platform to say it" I'm thinking if you don't agree, why not at least question him in a more serious fashion? Plus to say it's important to give a platform for a guy who himself has a national radio show AND a daily TV news show is a total joke and totally goes against the "giving a platform" to the voiceless concept that is C2C. George really shows he doesn't understand it when he considers a guy who got so much media platform to give his opinions like Glenn does. deserving another one in C2C.

I thought it was me--then I found the Fantastic Forum.
GN is such an egoist, I cannot listen anymore. I wish him to be gone from C2C, it is nothing like when I started listening to Art a long time ago. Thanks for being here FF.

I want C2C back. When I hear him talk like it has always been his program==all about him=well, there is much wrong in that.

Goodbye GN. Get another show.

Please??!!?

I happen to tune in to C2C a couple nights ago. Open lines again.... I happen to catch J.C., but even J.C. wasn't funny when Jorge talked over him. After that, I changed the station.

1. Open lines was an opportunity to talk intelligently to Art.

2. Open lines alone was not what the show was built on. It's hard for me to listen to a bore, let alone talk with one.

No. I do not listen to Noory. :)

I haven't posted in a long time but check here time to time for news about Art; shows he's doing, etc.

I wanted to post to this topic because like some of you I have stopped listening to C2C except for the time Art hosts. Noory just isn't the same as Art and some people feel that way and some don't.

With Art I looked forward to him just talking about whatever. I really didn't care. Noory just seems insincere and I have no desire to listen.

May Art come back more often in some form. Looking forward to Friday!

Cheers :)

I don't post post often these days but as one who listens to C2C for entertainment purposes (and doesn't get worked up over overt political viewpoints) I had to laugh last night.

Richard C. Hoagland came on as I was drifting to sleep and somehow my mind caught snippets about Robin, red wine and vodka?! That was followed by RCH wailing about the second man to land on the moon Buzz Aldrin spending 40 minutes calling Hoagland nuts. Oh wouldn't I have wanted to be there!

On Enterprise Mission there is a link that leads to a Russian newspaper of some kind. Richard's picture appears to be taken around 1977 and the sidebar to the left contains a photo and caption of Paris Hilton and a chest-blurred out photo of ex Russian Playboy and Penthouse model Victoria Zdrok; oh the pain, the pain. The Russians turned out in droves for RCH at the Washington Press Club. With the loss of the KGB they may be desperate to ferret any possible info into the inner workings of NASA. If they're depending on Hoagie that will set their space program back to pre-Sputnik days.

When I'm really board and cannot fall to sleep, I do listen to G.N. Actually, it helps me fall to sleep!

I listen to him for the laughs he inadvertantly provides, and the occasional caller that might offer something intriguing. There's a great collection of noory "moments" out there on mp3. The guests now are 99% charletans and noory's interviews are so vacuous, I only listen on mp3 when I can skip through to the funny parts where noory speaks.

Noory was on (off) his game again last night during open lines. He tried to be cute and make fun of several callers by mumbling under his breath to the rest of the audience, and all he did was confuse the callers and make himself look like a total jerk. It was painful to listen to, as usual. I feel as though it's my duty to try and listen a little each night, just to see what dumb things George will do or say. I'm not surprised there's a mp3 with Noory malaporisms out there...it should be a 100 disc set by now.
