But now GN has a new audience that demands political shows, and with purportedly higher ratings than ever in the show's existence. It is a different show with a different audience, but it is still called C2C
gpshealy I would like to see the proof of these high ratings and whose ratings are they, there are weekends here also. We are not privy to the ratings anymore. We used to be when Art was on full time, Aribitron doesn't list them any longer, why is that? What are they trying to hide.
GPS,
Thank you SO much for taking the time to write up such a detailed reply.
>>GN -- responding to who focus groups and station directors say they want to hear about -- begins talking about Iran, conspiracies about 9/11, mad cow diese, etc. <<
OK. But I can't say that I have any lasting memories of insights or salient points made by GN on any of those subjects you mentioned based on my years of listening to him. In the beginning, as now, he simply reads copy and isn't able to expound upon anything, offer insight, or analysis. Like the brick salesman who shows you a sample brick but won't let you hold it because it's actually made of papier mache. I find this obvious, I'm surprised, in light of the supposed high ratings, that others don't as well.
But yes, I'm guilty of not calling my radio station and complaning. I've actually been meaning to call Tom at a number that Terisius provided but I've been working night and day and haven't had the time. So yes, I'm guilty as well for not voicing my opinion.
Anyway, again, thank you for taking so much time to post what you did. I will be re-reading it during breaks in my work this evening so I can fully appreciate what you had to say.
Thanks again.

zed, George gives the reader a biographical sketch of his Aunt Shafica in Worker in the Light. I chose this selection to post today since Dr. Nick Begich was George's guest last night on Coast to Coast AM.

was also very good info.
I agree Waverider. George did a great job on this interview. He was focused and engaged. Dr. Begich is such an excellent researcher -- George really worked with him and the show was a pleasure to hear.

"Personality
Noory is known for his mild-mannered interviewing style and his willingness to air callers with claims of alien abductions, near-death experiences and other paranormal topics. In the past, he has made some unusual claims on his show. Noory claims that he was once an alien named Bob in his past life. Such claims may be nothing more than Noory's tongue-in-cheek musings, meant to further amplify the air of mystery embodied in the show's very premise.
George Noory's patriotic pro-American stand, his down-to-earth style and his ability to instantly react to any types of callers in a friendly, often humorous manner has greatly contributed to his popularity with millions of US and Canadian listeners of all walks of life, from truckers driving across America at night to policemen on duty and night-shift security personnel to the blind and the elderly, and simply lonely people in need of a friend."
...and what catagory do we fall in ??
:p
Last night GN really didn't do a bang up job as a host interviewer, imo.
The guest had a great story and I felt GN just disrupted his story with his usual, disturbing injections of random, thought.
Is this considered bashing?
Just checking in.

Ziroc, Forum back up today and all posts were lost for a 12 hour period, you didn't do anything, honest.

Yeah, I was thinking that.. I run a forum as well *_ and it happens.
I am kinda afraid of moving to the new forum software called 'Invision board'. It uses a database and MySQL. And I hear the databases can get corrupted, and you gotta rebuild them. Imagine 17,000 members and 2+ million posts you gotta rebuild.
I tested it in beta--takes a day and a half. CRAZY! But it has some of the best new features-- I use UBB currently, and it doesn't have user registration 'image recognition' to stop spambots, so every 3 days, I get 70 or so automated spam registrations--and so I have to hand validate each new member. It sucks bad.
Anyway, no prob, just didn't wanna piss anyone off. Back to the topic in progress.
