Hiya, meg :)

I check it from time to time. Put a mirror up to its nostrils, looking for vapor. It's alive, but just barely. Some serious doldrums going on all over the ship.

I'll have to type fast, so read as quickly as you can, please.

My somewhat new assignment is eating my entire lunch. Even the twinkie! Oddly, I listen to C2C most every damn night, because I'm up, I'm working, and the radio is right there. George has had some good nights. So I haven't abandoned ship, and I'm not ignoring my job making empty bottles for Linnea to put model ships in... I'm merely adrift. At least my SETI program is consistent.

ANYhow, I'll try to steal the dinghy more often (there are many) and get over here to the mother ship. Seems like I've either been working, sleeping, or too spaced out to even type (I know, that never stopped me before). I expect this sick situation to last at least until August. I ought to be back from the shadows by then. It'll be too hot to work, for one thing.

So don't count your WU's 'til they crunch.

Hiya, Morgan! Nice to see you...

Congratulations to the Big Guns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll never forget this: stodgy Sam Donaldson, on his (then) ABC Sunday morning news program, was asked what his preditions were for 2002. He said " I believe this is the year we make contact with another world". It was such an extraordinary statement, that even Art mentioned it on the show (this was early 2002...pre-"retirement").

Based upon these numbers, and everything else that is going on, I believe that 2003 (or at least 2004) will finally be that year. Imagine, what the day will be like.

As for me, I'm still chuggin' along with my little screen saver. But I am very proud to be a member of this team.

thanks Linnea,
lrs

megman - stick with crunching. It's less exhausting. :D Hey Tracker - you are really moving up! How many machines do you have in service now?

Hey Linnea,

I still only have the 15 machines running but I will be adding 3 more come the end of july. Fast new ones ready to crunch. I can't compete with the big guns though they are slamming it! All good though as we can find that signal I know we can!

Awesome

Only 15! :D

Heck - you are moving on 1400 WUs already! So, tell us about the new machines.

Well of the three machines one is a new server more than capable of doing its job of managing network users. It is a dual 3 Ghz machine with 1 gig of ram and over 400 gigs total storage space. Overkill bigtime for our network but will last us a long time...several years I expect. It will be running seti client with a 3 unit cache. The next 2 are just workstation additions for 2 new employees...they will be your run of the mill emachines and kicking out some decent WU's in comparison to some of the others on the network. I am even more excited as to october's boost as I will be bringing on an enitire remote office of about 12 more machines. Company is buying out another real estate partner and we will be taking over operations remotely for them. My numbers will sky rocket then because they have all new machines since march. All atleast 2 GHz or better. I am so excited and can't wait!

Btw, that is an awesome icon on your posts!
