Earth to FFST!
Well, we haven't had any discussion of FFST for awhile. Carlos hit 1000 WUs a bit ago. We still have a few power crunchers. The fun seems to be gone from the seti endeavor. Seems Seti will be moving on to the - what? laser signals, or something?
Suvata is about to hit 700 WUs. Embustero is still the leader with 5214. Active crunchers are: Embustero, Bill, robin preston, BenSlain, Carlos, suvata, jaf, martyjg, darkman, daboodaddy, TJ, and Butch.
Others of us have not turned in a WU in some while. Tony continues to have zero. Tony?
Anyhow, let's talk about seti @home. I'll go now and crunch something. Wish one of 'us' would hit on the 'Contact WU'. Wouldn't that be something!

Just wondering if FFST is still going? I see you are but you don't have any enthusiasm. Are you going to continue on when SETI@home Southern Hemisphere Search and Astropulse get underway? I have a feeling that we're all going to have to restart our teams and start from scratch. Our team will remain the same (at least the name).
Anyone want to take LOA from FFST and spend a TD assignment on TAB? You are all welcome. Just dock the ship and walk over to our afterbrow. You needn't do any more than salute the ensign on the aft of the ship. No OOD on duty!
I'm not trying to steal any members...if one comes, you should all come! At any rate...keep crunchin' whatever you do.

I would be #1 there wouldn't I? Naa
Is FFST going to start up again when the switch to Astropulse and Southern Hemisphere Search start up? Every indication points to everyone starting over from scratch...both individual stats as well as teams. I'm starting to be okay with the idea but I'm sure there will be a lot of pissed-off folks!

Us humans have a weakness that causes us to get all attached to numbers. Numbers are rather meaningless by themselves, but we like to hang on to them, anyway.
Maybe folks just want the certificates... ya think?

Wow - that's a pretty dim view of things, Mark. Makes me re-think the whole dang idea of participating. I truly don't give a rat's a$$ who has the fastest processor (or car, or anything). Seems to me if that's the case, it would be pretty pathetic of me to use what little processing prowess I posess on such a meaningless task.
Thanks for the insight.
(As I read this over I realized it could sound sarcastic... rest assured it is not. It is, in actuality, how I feel about it, in light of the probability, (or possibility), of actually finding anything is near, or at, zero.)
