I have been planning to make the move for a long time. You will find lots of fellow hams here, although some of them are on hiatus (like Art is from radio) at the moment.

I also confess to being a ham procrastinator. :| I find the tech involved now fascinating but have never taken the plunge of the test and purchasing equipment. I would to at least like to be able to receive amateur broadcasts as the feces approaches the political fan. .

It's alot of fun, various topics and projects to get involved in. Communications etc.

I've been a ham for about a short while now. In the US, its huge.

I used to be a member of the ARRL. The magazine is more then what I was expecting. In Canada we have a supportive network under RAC.

Your local ARRL should be able to direct you. Dont miss out, its a great hobby with little expectations to the highest your pocket book can take you :-) Like all things we love to en devour in.
