Really good to hear Art yesterday, it was so refreshing. Listen to the first half here and had a great time, listened to second half on my own.
Really liked listening him talk about the radio business and how to keep C2C fresh. His suggestion don't do what other shows are doing, listening to talk radio it's all the same thing, do something different. I couldn't agree more, look I dont' have to agree with every guest or topic (and didn't all the time with Art), but C2C always gave either a far out topic or a slightly different slant/take on a mainstream topic than what you'd hear on other times of the day. That's what made C2C interesting before and really not happening now.
Another intersting part during the show that was when Art asked the guest about Van Allen Belt when going to the moon. To some disappointment the guest didn't really have an answer. But the more I think about it, the more I thought how refeshing to have a host smart enough to ask not the generic "on paper" questions but thinking on the spot and ask a tough question and challenge the guest. The regular host just seem to not have that ability or mpy want to have it when he hosts, as a guest can pretty much contradicts himself and say anything without anything challenging by the host. With the regular host I found myself always yelling "Why aren't you asking the obvious follow up question to this?". With Art I find myself thinking "Oh good follow up, didn't think of that."
