The Area 51 Pilot
During the first hour, Art replayed a classic excerpt from 4/1/97, featuring a caller who claimed to be a pilot who was in the process of flying into Area 51. He described seeing the super-secret facility, but the call abruptly ended when he clamored "they're shooting at me now."

Wow! Just listened to a replay of last nights show and replayed this infamous man flying over Area 51. Call it synchronicity or what but I've been trying to find this clip for about a week now and KaBoom, he plays it.... so unreal. Thank you, thank you, thank you Art.

That is great Ivy, I have a CD somewhere with this clip and also numerous others plus the Area 51 special line clips. I think the government caller line is also included in that CD.

That's Art Bell matrix CD 9 Shirley.

When I listened to the replay of this clip... I did hear the airplanes engine in the background.

I believed it a lot more at the time than when I heard it again. It seemed like there were engine sounds and stuff last time.

Just a thought, but if there were a violent explosion, there might not have been a sound of gunfire, etc. Not sure though as I have never pilot, let alone been shot down by a military jet while in one.
