Ross Mitchell Filling In For Art
Doesn't look like Art will be on this weekend, I am missing him so much.
Ross Mitchell Filling in for Art Saturday July 15, 2006, he will be interviewing Charles R. Smith

Charles R. Smith is one of America's leading experts on cyber technology and its implications for war, terrorism, privacy and every way technology interacts with our lives. He is an exclusive columnist for NewsMax.com as its "CyberWar" expert and is currently President and CEO of SOFTWAR, his own consulting company.
Mr. Smith's life sounds like a character in a Tom Clancy novel. He received a U.S. government "Top Secret" clearance as a top-level computer engineer for EDS. There he was assigned to work with the U.S. Army on logistic projects during the Cold War. He currently provides security software for medical information services and hospitals, encryption software for secure e-mail, direct communications, electronic commerce and Internet Web Site services. During the past ten years, Smith has also become a noted investigative journalist

we're been suffering from the effects of a major super storm - typhoon over manila and passing over Taiwan and going into China. Streets have been flooded - wind has been very strong - some people died in Baguio City because of landslides - all schools have been shut - people haven't been able to get to work - it's still raining and this might continue into the weekend - I don't think much work can be done in Manila because of the situation. Everything should clear up by next week. At least I hope so.

Me too, Shirleypal! It seems like forever since I've had the pleasure of taking one of Art's late-night rides... and the weekends are just not the same when he's not on the air.Shirleypal wrote: Doesn't look like Art will be on this weekend, I am missing him so much.

Thanks to you ShirleyPal and Conscious, I can listen to Art 24/7 if I choose. I love how he hosts the show and also listening to his awesome music, his voice and his commentaries..... This will do until Art arrives back.
I truly believe that Art is trying his best to get back on the air. He will, one way or another....

I caught the end of Ross' show last week and wasn't very impressed. But it was just the last half hour or so..maybe the first part was better. Might have been the guest? I liked Lisa Garr better but I caught most all of her show.
I wish he'd just stayed the kewl booming announcer myself. Now those little spots won't ever be quite the same to me. Coast has changed a lot in my eyes (or should I say ears) over the last few years. And, for me at least, not all in a good way. I'm thinking the right person with the right show and attitude could swoop in and grab a bunch of the C2C audience..
..But who'd want us?

I'm with you, Dale. It somehow lessens the effectiveness. His original purpose was for flavor, adornment-- spice, if you will. He was the habenero sauce on the burrito, not the beans. Now they may as well have Ian doing Ross's spots. (Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Ian, but...)
The parts of Ross's interviews I've heard have been good for the most part, though. He listens to the guest, and responds in an organic and intelligent manner, but that voice of his often distracts me from the actual content of the conversations. He seems like a super cool & nice guy, though, I'll give him that. He seems sincere.
