Several big Philippines earthquakes today. Looks like about 570 miles away from Art's Manila location. Hope his phone and internet connections are OK.

Philippines Earthquake TODAY in Mindanao Mag 7.3

MINDANAO (LALATE) – Mindanao, Philippines has been hit by a major earthquake today. News of Mindanao, Philippines earthquake today comes two months after the region was struck by a 6.0 quake. But unlike the May 2010 quake that had a mere 21 mile depth, today’s quake was 376 miles below the surface.

At 6 AM Saturday local time, Mindanao, Philippines was struck by a 7.3 earthquake. The region location is again the Moro Gulf. The quake was roughly 65 miles south west of Cotabato, 75 miles south of Pagadian, and 94 miles east of Zamboanga. It registered 570 miles southeast of Manila.

The USGS earthquake site now lists 4 big earthquakes so far in the same location:

Getting reports in Manila they didn't feel anything. The quake stuck at a depth of 604.5 km (375.6 miles). At those depths, not much damage will occur on the surface.

I think Art will be fine ;)
