95 minutes.....didn't realize there was that much silence, don't know why that is.......I recorded it from three files.

To tell the truth I was never crazy about open lines to the guest, especially these days, all the long time intelligent listeners are gone plus the screeners do a terrible job.......over the weekend they put on callers who were telling stories, no good questions.

With you on that one, SP. Open Lines to the guest used to be entertaining...now they are just a drudgery most of the time...

I remember the days when there were such great callers that Art would just sit back and listen while the caller and guest had a great discussion.

I feel exactly the same way Shirleypal.. The times I have listened to Noory, I could not stand his open lines.. Art's open lines were a whole different story back in the day..

When Art is on now with open lines, he just seems continually frustrated because the new Coast audience cannot understand simple instructions like (Turn your radio off)... And you always hear, "Am I on", "Is this Art?", "Am I on the radio?" As many times as Art reminds everybody that he doesn't screen callers, every other call somebody doesn't get it..

Noory's problem is that he seems to have some kind of a quota and runs as many people through as he can without LISTENING. And, the more interesting the call the less he seems interested and cuts them off before you hear the best part of the story.. Noory's one liners, "Incredible".. "That's a Great story" without any follow-up whatsoever..

Now I just feel like I'm ranting.. Anyway.

The difference between the calling audience of old and current really is astounding sometimes. Though there were a number of good callers this past weekend when Art was on.

I can;t tell you from personal experience how the other handles anything......the last time I listened to him was before Art announced he was retiring and sNoory would be the new host, couldn't stand him ever and have no interest in listening to him, aside from Art I love Mr. Knapp, John B. Wells, Lisa Garr and also loved Rollye James........forget Ian not interested in his guest anymore.

Yes, it is astounding.. I think there is a whole new group of listeners that come on when Art has a show..

I do need to venture out a little and enjoy some of the other guests that come on Coast.. I just really havn't given them much of a chance.

Thanks all.. This has been fun.
Thanks for letting me part of the ORR.
