Buy a vehicle - get a free gun or gas card
Max Motors in Butler story hits BBC. This is a more complete story than the one AP was publishing.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7416120.stm
Max Motors in Butler, Missouri, says sales have quadrupled since the start of the offer.
Customers can choose between a gun or a $250 (£125) gas card, but most so far have chosen the gun.

A profound 'sign of the times'!
'Max' Motors? Reminiscent of the Mad Max movie ideology... Almost...

Why not Joe, haven't you alluded to that already in your wise posts else where?
On my local yahoo out here (Whittier area) on the west coast, there are daily shootings and stabbings, child abductions, child predators, car chases, drive by shootings, you name it, etc. We are numb and live in fear. I could walk miles from home in the 70's and get home after dark without my parents worrying. I can't let my kids out my sight on our own block and even have to chase them in the house if suspicious looking characters cruise by.

I think the gun cleaning parties on the lawn have put that to rest. J.K.
We have just installed the latest alarm systems at our house. They have back up power supplies and smoke, carbon, gas, proximity, just about everything you can imagine. We left for my in-laws the other day for a visit and left the garage open and the alarm unarmed. May as well have put a garage sale everything is free sign on the lawn. Duhhhh!

vigo, I left So. California 30 years ago. I remember it as a third world country then. I can only imagine what it's like now. Your post brought chills up my spine. I could say what the cause is, but I would get called out by some here. By the way, I haven't locked my door for the thirty years since I left there. Take care.

Actually majda, it's much worse than anything you could possibly imagine.

At least the sales have gone way up there, and yes the customers do have to meet regulations to obtain the gun from the local gun dealer - where the 'free guns' can be obtained.
Now if I was looking for a new or used car -- yup I'd go for another gun - why not?
The free gun is only good to the end of May -- but there are hints of other things to come with this car dealership...
