Political Compass for Fantastic Forum

Iris, here are my results. I am not sure I understood all the questions. My feelings about my own leanings are Libertarian Right (but not extreme). I would have thought my results would have put me exactly diagonal to where I ended up.
Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -1.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.69

That's cool, doc. I think Majda is going to weigh in here, and who knows who else, so I'll make a new chart after waiting for a little while -- to keep from overloading the forum with big graphics.
If you are Libertarian Right, you wouldn't have landed diagonal, but straight to the right a few squares, probably. Interesting, maybe to you (?) I voted for Harry twice myself.

The survey chart placed me Authoritarian Left, wouldn't that be diagonal? Never mind. I will wait to see where the chart puts me. Maybe it will be clearer to me then:)

You told me your scores were:
Economic Left/Right: -1.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.69
That would make you Left/Libertarian because the "-" on each of your scores puts you to the left of the vertical line and below the horizontal line, respectively. For the scores you quoted above, your dot would be in the left lower quadrant.
But you say now that the test called you a Left/Authoritarian? Did your dot show up in the left upper quadrant, closer to where Pope Paul is on the group chart? Would you like to double-check your scores again?
Could your correct score maybe be:
Economic Left/Right: -1.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: +3.69
???
If the latter score is correct, you would place in the left upper quadrant, and then you're right that a Right/Libertarian score would place you at a diagonal.
Either way you slice it, you're within the "moderate" circle.

Gosh. I don't know. I just copied my results. If I take it again I will probably get a different result, Stalin or something.Iris wrote: You told me your scores were:

If the latter score is correct, yes, you would be correct that a Right/Libertarian score would place you at a diagonal.
Hahahaha. You don't look anywhere close to Stalin to me! Note also that the Pope and Stalin are in the same quadrant -- but they are *nothing* alike.
The dead center is 0.00 in both directions.
On the horizontal Economic Scale, a "+" score puts you on the right of the VERTICAL center line. A "-" score puts you to the left of the VERTICAL center line.
On the vertical Social Libertarian/Authoritarian Scale, a "+" score puts you above the HORIZONTAL center line. A "-" score puts you below the HORIZONTAL center line.
Note: They show the "-" score with a "-" sign. They don't show a "+" on the "+" scores; the plus is assumed.
When you saw your scores, they also showed you a graphic with your red dot pictured. Was the dot on the upper left or lower left? Can you remember? Did they say you are Authoritarian Left? If yes, then it was in the upper left quadrant on the chart.

Iris, here are my results.
Economic left/right: -2.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.82
A nice place to be since Ghandi isn't too far away. I feel in good company.

Sorry I am holding it up:eek: I will have to wait a day or two to retake the test, but I promise I will. Then I will repost the chart:)Iris wrote: Madja, glad you joined us! Yes, you are in good company.
Now I'm waiting for doc to report back in and clarify his scores... then I'll re-do the chart.
Anybody else?
