"DARKER Matters" Coming to artbell.com? Paranormal

Via Alpha at Imaginative Worlds:
  • Someone at BellGab suggested that Art start a paranormal podcast network to stream from artbell.com as in interim step, until he can return to the airwaves and from what Art's producer Paul has responded, it looks like that is what is in the works.
From Paul's post at Bellgab:

What Is To Be Done? Burning Questions Of Our Movement

Perhaps we should look at this differently.....
What do we want too do?
Frankly, because Premcrap pedals the mediocre, they should be made irrelevant in the Marketplace.
    By constructing an Alternative.
    An Alternative.
Streaming is no doubt the answer. A component should be fee based.
Could we construct one "channel" and bring together the best "paranormal" interviewers...under one umbrella...
Sell podcasts. License to struggling radio stations.

    An Alternative now...
    Compete against Premcrap now

The people here are talented, are perceptive.
It is entirely possible and within reach.

And then when Art is free he could come on board?

    Planetary Media Corporation....
That is what Keith is working on for artbell.com

Email him any podcasters you like or think would be a good fit for the genre.
    [email protected]
So whadda think?

With artbell.com as its hub, is a Paranormal Podcast Network an idea whose time has come?

Cant help to think as i thought would happen that all the theories and peoples personal ideas on what art is going to do will keep being posted for months on here with nothing ever coming true. Poeple will say they heard this and they heard that and nothing will happen. This is where i blame art also. He should just come right out and say i am done instead of letting everyone try and figure out what is going on. S frustrated.

Well, so much as it IS Art's producer Paul who's stated Keith's working on this idea for the site, we have more than just fan conjecture concerning what's currently in the works. That said, only time will tell whether anything actually comes of it...

Because they're bored, or they think they can do better than what-all other shows are out there?

Besides, for as long as Art's legally barred from any hosting duties, there's definitely more room than there would be otherwise for a determined on-air talent or talents to stand out from all the rest eh!

Riddick - A hyper-link within a poll? Well played, my cheese headed friend.

Art? Podcast? Meh.

I'll be late to the show this time. He needs new people around him, and he needs to burn his Rolodex. Until he finds a hip new band, the same bad tune is going to continue to be replayed.

A podcast is pretty easy to do - why it wasn't done to begin with is beyond comprehension. Maybe Art spent himself into a hole shipping his cats all over the world for $10k a trip, and needed some upfront cash-a-roo from SXM.

Can you imagine the deal he could have struck if had gone to any network (including SXM) with an existing weekly podcast pulling in 100,000 downloads per episode? He could have set it all in motion for a song - literally... this song:

So will Art be a kind of DJ for these podcasts? Or would the site just become an aggregator?

Right after Art's Halloween announcement, I suggested, on his Facebook Page, that he might consider being a "guest" on Gabcast/The Spec Sheet. It was after that, that Art called into that Podcast.

I don't care who gets credit for the idea, I'm just glad it has become a reality.

How is that competing when it is in a different medium?

I mean, I don't even see any ideas here, who are these mysterious hosts who will fill the "network" with content? Obviously it can't be existing podcasters, because who is going to give their stuff to someone who wants to charge money for it? Who wants to dilute their brand by going under someone else's name? If he just wants to aggregate podcasts, great, but there are thousands of websites who do this already (just for instance http://ufoparanormalradio.homestead.com ... ion_2.html or http://www.blogtalkradio.com/paranormal or um I don't know - ITUNES?). This is not some "new idea" they have. I think they missed the last 10 years of podcasting history?

Thanks SquidInk, but that idea isn't unique. I bet a lot of folks thought of it as well. The important thing is that it's up and running now.:D

Does Art regularly come on that podcast? Just wondering what is up and running?

The man he needs to talk to is Binnall. He knows how to do podcasting, amazing guests, and he has kept it running for a looong time (in season 8 now). He could definitely teach them some new tricks. http://www.binnallofamerica.com/ Just browse his season 3 (I just picked one at random) guest lineup http://binnallofamerica.com/audio3.html - this is the stuff.

Art called into the "Spec Sheet" once.

I just meant Dark Matter Network is up and running. The first podcast, Jim Herold, just ended. The replay is currently running.

I know, Binnall is great. Any chance of getting him to help with a Fantastic Forum Podcast?

I'm not sure I under your question. You don't have to be anywhere to listen to the podcast. Some people like to gather in chat rooms or on forum live threads to share their listening experience with others. Some people probably listen in bed then go to sleep. You may listen where ever you feel like listening.
