In pondering possible loopholes to exploit I was wondering - In lieu of a release to do his own show straight-out any earlier than the end of his NC clause, how about in the meanwhile Art becomes a regular ongoing featured "panelist" on Bellgab's podcast - i.e. someone else ostensibly performs the direct hosting chores, taking calls and/or interviewing guests, while Art takes a 'commentator' role in the proceedings?

The podcast could go by the unofficial title "NOT the Art Bell Dark Matter Show"

They discussed that very possibility, of course.

Inevitably....

hey I am sure he can do his own thing with podcasts and so on, but he almost definitely can't use the name dark matter, and likely he has a clause in the contract against doing something that might compete with what he was airing on sirius, so no paranormal stuff? Hard to say. If he was smart he had a good lawyer BEFORE he signed the contract since that matters a lot more than afterwards.

Logic does not seem to have played a large role in any of this, from the very beginning. It seems all impulsive, with the downfalls that entails.

I think the hatred Art had for Clear Channel/PremRad was perhaps the reason the deal was done with the devil. FWIW, I always thought Ramona was his business manager, based on their early relationship.

If they don't already, SiriusXM is going to wish they never heard of Art Bell.

I'm sure there's a psychological term that explains all this.

Well, it's a collective response to psychic trauma, that's for sure.

I for one vote for Pahrumpanoia to be the name of Art's new new show.
