there are many more going up every day, it is a losing battle trying to stop them.

I just noticed on my on-demand XM internet player for Art that his shows expire in 1800+ days - so it looks like we will be able to replay them for up to 5 years! This is pretty amazing and definitely adds to the value of the service.

So, I got my new Sirius Starmate 8 with vehicle kit..... except they actually sent me the XM Onyx with home kit (as well as the XM Xpres with home kit as well!).

Anyway, couldn't be bothered to return it and wait for a new one, so hooked it up and away we go! I'm quite pleased with how it came out, hooked it directly in to the stereo :)

Does anyone want the other radio?

I love Akai equipment. The 747 is one hell of a machine. That's one worth keeping forever.

I was about to cancel my sirius/xm when I heard the news Art was coming back. I live on the coast, in the woods, so getting the satellite was touchy- and in the car it came and went. I switched my acct to streaming only and listen to it on my nexus7 tablet. Works great.

Akai was always the BEST audio equipment. I believe Teak was up there as well.

I'm envious, Jeff

EVerything is now digital. My ears are too old to tell the difference.

I have to be honest, the first thing I thought was, "Damn! Kaz has an Akai!"

I have too many reel to reels around here. I'm probably going to have to unload a few.

FYI: in Tom Taylor's "NOW Radio"
SiriusXM tempts lapsed subscribers with sweet offers – like six months for . That’s not per month, but total, for the first six months of a returning subscription. Not only that, the company says “if you act now, we’ll even waive your activation fee, an extra in savings.” And unlike some wireless carriers, the satcaster promises that “you can cancel at any time.” Normally, you can get the “XM Select” side of the service for .99 a month, or for six months. Bringing lost sheep back into the fold is smart business, since they’ve got an installed radio (probably in a car or other vehicle) and they’re familiar with the service. From there, SiriusXM hopes to keep the prodigal subscribers – and perhaps upgrade them to more services, like the MySXM online tier. Another big push for SiriusXM is with used car dealers, and that can be a very profitable channel. SiriusXM recently passed the 25-million subscriber mark, and its stock (closing at .88 last Friday) hasn’t traded this high since early 2006. They’re feeling pretty confident.
Still not good enough for me, but someone else may want to enjoy it.
