Art on Facebook:

"I no longer harbor a grudge against Oates, it's not healthy. Premiere however is a another matter, I have nothing less than a institutional hate for what they did to me. I had almost decided not to tell that story but after what George did on Thursday (I have word from a inside source that indeed it was George over the advice/objections of his Producer) it just may be time for a clear slate. Stay tuned"

Damn....

Like many politicians, the world would be a lot better without Clear Channel, the Mays family, and Premier. I hope Art prevails.

And there's always the old standby of supergluing his lips together while trying to fix a cart rack.
Also in a more merry "Memory Lane" good-times vein? Far's format goes in large I'd like 'Dark Matter' to follow a flow like the early 'Dreamland'. Not up much on weeknights, I only first caught on with Art on the weekends (Saturday nights to be precise, actually being the previous Sunday show, the local affiliate airing Dreamland on delay...)

IMHO even as the choice of opening theme music was absolutely apt and apropos to establish the mood, Art's awesomely excellent in execution intro/voice-over narrative set the stage and the tone for what would follow:
  • Welcome to Dreamland, a program dedicated to an examination of areas in the human experience not easily nor neatly put in a box: things seen at the edge of vision, awakening a part of the mind as yet not mapped, and yet things every bit as real as the air we breathe, but don't see - THIS is DREAMLAND!
I still get 'phantom' goosebump chills just thinking of all that! With the new, I'd like to experience some of the old, and to get the same or similar clammy skin condition from listening to 'Dark Matter' would be more than welcome.

I'm ready for some new Art!
What we've all been waiting for all these years, will be here in just a few more days. It's gonna be fun!

I see your Groan and raise you two groans. Painful ones at that.

I agree Richard can be a hard listen, but, every once in while he can come up with a really good nugget. :)

Same could be said for Roseann Barr and Gilbert Gottfried.

I could tolerate Richard if he wasn't always interrupting people and being so controlling.

Tedious, pompous and ponderous.

Art, I love you, but you need to break new ground. Remember the times you spent with Terrence McKenna... there is fertile ground. Get some youngsters on. I know you need to pay some dues, but we want you to be searching still. Consider internet-voting for guests. Video submissions? You can find some amazing people by using facebook and twitter to vote on things. Check this out http://strawpoll.me/

But then again.

90 percent of the post here and everywhere else are screaming how they miss the old Art Bell show. Well.....this is what it was most days.
