Yes. It's true....
Seems to light up in a transmit mode when that happens....
{little red flashing light...really neat. Aiiiiiiiieeeeee!}
So - anyone out there want to pace me to finish line of the amateur radio doofus-of-the-year award? Oh well - at least I wasn't being particularly dangerous. Heh

Well - thanks, Elk. On your advice, I have now figured out more about working with the sql to get that noise out of there. Should be able to hear much more next time... Had a decent antenna tuner scoped out on eBay last night. Put a bid on it with just a few hours to go - and some ham in Australia came and bid the thing out of the range of a good deal - dern it! I'm trying to get a used versa tuner. When I get that, I'll be able to monitor 80-10 meters....Really would like to get on that 10 meter band.

I didn't hear you Linnea but I talked to Elk and I was making it to Seattle. Well, keep reading the manual. I've been looking at the locations of repeaters near your area and I'm going to see if I can reach them. But the K7PP repeater is probably the best because of its extensive coverage.
It's hard to find a bargain on Ebay these days. Some smart-ass with money to burn or no sense usually drives the price up beyond reason. Of course that never happens when I try to sell something.
