Obama Open To Name Change For Washington Redskins
President Barack Obama says if he owned the Washington Redskins. he would "think about changing" the team's name, wading into the controversy involving a football nickname many people deem offensive to Native Americans. Full Story
I dunno if the Prez is the right guy to go to for a completely unbiased opinion here.
I mean, he gave his own name a total makeover didn't he?

Am I to take it, generally speaking, any observation of epidermal pigmentation is the issue here? E.G., the word 'skin' is ok on its own, just don't elaborate on its spectral features? Well then, what about skin "tanning" products? How do you market THEM without offending someone? So much for Coppertone.
While I was watching their Peter Sellers marathon last Friday, I noticed that ThisTV had taken to censoring dialogue from the "Pink Panther" movies whenever Inspector Clouseau was referring to Cato by way of phrases like "my little ------ friend" (the Y word). Like that's comparable to the N word now?
Ainit funny how time changes public perceptions? Nowadays, seems like almost anything ELSE goes when it comes to matters of the flesh - OTOH, don't you dare make ANY reference to its color.

Actually I think this is just another window into the empty mind of this President.
Look back and we see he has a nasty habit of weighing in on trivia and/or sticking his nose in where it does not belong.
He has no clue as to how to conduct himself.
A truly narcissistic empty suit.
Just in my uneducated opinion.

The only way he would own anything on his own is via the government or his close friend Tony Rezko.

I'm not kidding Dio.Diogenes wrote: Riddick,
Are you serious about the Y word???
There's a scene in "Revenge of the Pink Panther" where Cato is standing on Clouseau's shoulders, but Clouseau loses his balance and they both fall backwards with Cato being tossed through the window of a bakery.
Cato comes out covered in flour - eating a donut, he says "It's a bakery" and Clouseau says, "I kneu that!" - with the further comment, "At least you're not [CENSORED] anymore."
Bleep!!! A great bit ruined by the Correctness Police.
Speaking of multi-racial (or the lack of same), HB3: DYN for the 2006 "Pink Panther" reboot starring Steve Martin, they completely eliminated the part of Cato and brought in a caucasian to play the part of Ponton, Clouseau's police assistant and fellow Frenchman on the force? Pretty shrewd move, eh? Completely sidesteps the whole Chinese manservant issue -HB3 wrote: You can have free speech or you can have a multi-racial society.
Yet, why NOT still have an Asian actor in the cast playing Cato in a similar NON-subservient role? Think how funny it might have been to have Jackie Chan playing a instructor trying to advance Clouseau's martial arts skills by attacking him anywhere and at any time. But no; instead, the main Asian character in the flick was the primary suspect in the theft of the PP diamond.
Some swell trade-off there, eh? Criminal profiling is a huge improvement! Score another big win for Hollywood diversification...
