He is right on. Journalism used to be the 5w's not some op end sent out by some Obama AP -- to print or else.
Obama's lies are getting worse by the day
... thousands and thousands of people now posting about higher and higher insurance premium notices.
....people who went to regular drs for check-ups (scheduled ones) being told they will have to find a diff dr as their reg dr is not on the ObamaCare approval lists.
....same with hospitals no longer approved, and nearest hospital several hours drive away
....Hundreds of companies laying off workers or going to less than full time.
....YET these DEMS who voted to keep it going - oh ya they don't have to be ON it -- exempted.
and in 2009 - Obama said - you can keep your current insurance, dr, hospital and rates will NOT go up....

Cherry, that was for the moment, and only to get positive talking points. The thing to remember is that politicians are elected for their smiles and what they say they will do, not for a track record of accomplishments.
As far as the media, like many employees, results are seldom measured on the quality, but on quantity. It's far easier to take a press release and rewrite it than it is to dig for a story. Plus, the kids coming into J-school are looking to be the next Shepard Smith or some other name which reports snippets of news built around opinion. Its great for the ego.

This story is being repeated across the country. Is Obamacare itself, exclusively, the cause of this? Most likely not. But, with the loss of revenue starting back in 2007 under the Deficit Reduction Act, and projected annually out to 2020, and then built-in annual cuts in Medicare, and increase in sicker, older patients, as well as the sheer costs of everything that healthcare relies on to even stay open - the introduction of Obamacare into the mix has certainly made things much worse.
But, the country can rest easy - yes, people will have insurance. They just won't be able to find anyone accepting it, or, willing to work in healthcare. Unless, of course, you work for the government..........
WORLD-RENOWNED CLEVELAND CLINIC TO LAY OFF THOUSANDS DUE TO OBAMACARE
Northeast Ohio is known worldwide for its excellent hospitals, and the Cleveland Clinic is the main reason why. According to U.S. News and World Report, it is the 4th best hospital in the United States and the #1 hospital for Cardiology and Heart Surgery. People travel to Cleveland from around the world for its world-class health care.
The Clinic is the largest employer in Cleveland and the 2nd-largest in Ohio. Needless to say, they are a major part of the Northeast Ohio economy. In fact, one study shows that the clinic is responsible for 8% of the region's economic output.
Barack Obama knows that the Clinic is special, too. In 2009, he visited and lauded praise on the hospital system, saying that they "do some pretty smart things" to maintain high quality care while also innovating to keep costs low.
Ironically, the Cleveland Clinic is now being threatened by Obama's signature policy. Citing Obamacare as the primary reason, the Clinic announced that mass layoffs in the thousands are coming.
(Reuters) - The world-renowned Cleveland Clinic said on Wednesday it would cut jobs and slash five to six percent of its $6 billion annual budget to prepare for President Barack Obama's health reforms.
The clinic, which has treated celebrities and world leaders such as musician Lou Reed, former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and former Olympic gold medal skater Scott Hamilton, did not say how many of its 44,000 employees would be laid off. But a spokeswoman said that $330 million would be cut from its annual budget.
"Some of the initiatives include offering early retirement to 3,000 eligible employees, reducing operational costs, stricter review of filling vacant positions, and lastly workforce reductions," said Eileen Sheil, Executive Director of Corporate Communications for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. [emphasis added]
Expect more hospital systems to follow suit as the law goes into full effect. Everything that Republicans warned would happen as a result of Obamacare is coming to fruition, and the law's popularity is falling to new lows as people are waking up to the reality. The only solution is full repeal, which is only going to happen by retaking the Senate and the White House.

Our regional medical center recently cut 200 people. There were four ER people on during the week. Now there are two. The hospital can't afford a regular staff. So what happens if there is a real emergency. Fend for yourself?

..and it is only getting worse! Other medical facilities are closed, closing or will be within a year. Some are combining with other doctors while cutting back on services and hours.
The misuse of ERs as noted continues to go up and who is paying for those who misuse them? What happens when there are REAL emergencies?

I'm sorry Doka, I read you post and veered right off onto a healthcare issue - which is tangentially-related at best in that the media doesn't report this.
I just finished the article you posted. I agree with Hersch - most people just don't trust the media anymore - and why should they? Most of what they publish comes straight from dept spokesmen who will never let the readl story out - or cite annonymous sources. The days of true investigative journalism are over.

Well, we all knew it was a dumb story and an obvious lie, but no one in the MSM has bothered to even look twice at it.kbot wrote: Does open a Pandora's box........

Been re-reading the Michael Hastings "he was killed in a car accident" story. Sorry....... too many co-incidences for this to have been a simple "accident".

Between the MSM kowtowing to the government since 9-11 anyway, and the government using the NDAA to threaten those who ask questions, and now, maybe, also killing them, at some point you have to wonder "Where the heck are we anyway??????"
It's like someone borrowed a page from Communist China's Cultural Revolution playbook.....
Its intellectual laziness, KBOT. Don't check the facts, don't challenge the word, otherwise you might be excluded from the next press conference.
