Can we still call them "press conferences"? Seems a more appropriate term would be "show and tell", and even then, I think that's an insult to kids everywhere.......

there is no press, that is the point of the article, although even he doesn't go far enough. We have the ministry of propaganda, it was enacted decades ago, but the transformation is nearly complete.

Obama was elected for his diction. He sounds so good. I once had a professor just like him that taught African American Art and Mythology. He had the same voice and diction. He had never been to Africa and just like BHO, if he lost his slides (teleprompter) he couldn't talk.

the president has almost nothing to do with making policy. just sayin'. This is something the press should be hammering on. We blame them as figureheads, but the policymakers and lobbyists are the true evil.

Honestly the president's number one job is to make you direct your hate towards him alone so that the real people to blame don't even have their names known by the greater public.

In this I believe you're correct. Look at all the think tanks and groups such as the Council on Foreign Relations that actually do publish their views and plans (which very few people read). Many of the members are on the revolving door of politics - they're in/ they're out of office, but they develop policies that are then put into place (sometimes decades later).

I would suggest that the majority of those in government, if they had to have a real job, you would see they at the drive thru window. They have no clue what the average person does, or how hard we have to work to get what we need.

The difference is when I overwrite my checkbook I can get jail time. If they overwrite their's they print money to cover what they wrote.
