I don't, as well, but there is a common thread, and that is the discontentment with "the system". And this is the point I'm trying to make. While some of these people may appear as wack-jobs, they are seeking what both the tea party and many of us are trying to seek..... a change in our the way government and our society rules.

It's important to not only listen to your own side/views, but those of the opposition. And while the "hippies" in the park may seem unappealing, they are after all our citizens.

I trust that if there are scuffles in the park tomorrow, and someone is shot and killed, that their lives are no less valuable than those of a tea party member, or your quite democrat or republican.

I think once the shooting starts, that will mark a change in our country which could be an awakening.

Dude -- there's absolutely zero chance the NYPD are going to shoot anyone when they attempt to clear the hippies out so they can hose down the sidewalks. The fact that you're bringing it up does reveal a certain sense of anticipation at the prospect. Sorry for the cliche, but it's not the 60s anymore, dude. Among other things, the roles have reversed: the rebels are now the establishment. And because of this, "revolutionary conflicts" have become even more absurd and comical. The narrative as you conceive it no longer exists, if it ever did.

Regarding trash collection, well, the issue is again one of hypocrisy, as we've already noted when it comes to the use of technology. Or the phenomenon I've noted in the past about the Baby Boomers -- high self-regard concerning their love for abstract "humanity," but frequently appalling behavior when it comes to one-on-one, individual human interaction.

I have listened to them and I keep saying I'm not hearing anything which is cogent and makes sense. I then couple that with the visual and it's not a great picture.

Would anyone here hire one of these loons looking and acting like this? Good grief.

Their basic philosophy is Socialism bordering on Communism - honestly the majority seem to prefer a completely different political philosophy and if they would be happier in a Socialistic or Communistic society I would encourage them to move to a country which suits them.

The Tea Party at least refers to the Constitution, Founding Fathers, show respect for their country and again their bullet points are cogent and resonate to the point the 2010 elections were affected.

Splain comparison of trash collection and boomers high self regard and lack of human interaction.

"Someone else" picks up the trash. "Someone else" creates and provides the technology appropriated for the revolution. Despite this, they clearly think extremely highly of themselves.

But again, I don't want to say they're all like this. Of course, they're not. But roughly speaking it looks like the dividing up of armies. One of the things that's interesting about this is, when you get down to the nitty-gritty, the way some people switch sides, become disillusioned, etc. So certainly there will be some of this.

My bold prediction, instead, is that there will be a great deal of silliness. I read somewhere that some of the guys are fashioning suits of "armor" made out of paper mache. Now that's what I'm looking for....guys dressed in paper mache going up against the NYPD.

The longer this goes on the less and less it resembles anything like the Tea Party movement.

Not to mention what this is costing the taxpayer.

The cleanup of the Lower Manhattan park that has been occupied by protesters for nearly a month was postponed Friday shortly before it was supposed to begin, averting a feared showdown between the police and demonstrators who had vowed to resist any efforts to evict them from their encampment.
Why, that's impossible!
At a formal ceremony, Mayor Bloomberg presented the protesters with the keys to the city, after which members of the NYPD distributed 10,000 gallons of Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
Ok, I made that part up.

Undeterred by their infuriating lack of martyrdom, however, enraged protesters quickly swept into the streets of New York, hoping to find some action.

Here, a New York City police officer dutifully poses for the camera:

"Hideously white" protesters raise their arms in a familiar salute.

I guarantee you the majority have no clue why they are there - they are just hanging out and having a great time.

I would hate to be the police as haven't we all sat in a business meeting with some dolt and he/she drones on and on and on - can you imagine being confronted with this crowd and the stench and the insults day after day after day after day.

Talk about needing a stiff drink when you get home.
