The issue, from the point of view of Senate Democrats, was always women's health care - and access to health care for millions who have no other options for health care.

And they are not lying about that.

Don't you get it? Really?

Of course I get that. But if Democrats like Louise Slaughter get to read all sorts of other impulses into what Republicans say they want, then I get to do the same with the Democrats.

New GOP Bill Would Allow Hospitals To Let Women Die Instead Of Having An Abortion

http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011 ... ortion.php

The bills name is HR 358 "The Protect Life Act". Its basically says that the hospital has a right to deny an abortion even if the mothers life is at stake.

So, you're claiming the right too make up lies, spread them like the truth and then whine when you're caught at it?

I knew you were a closet 'thug.

and DOCUMENT your comment about Louise Slaughter, or is that another lie you just pulled out of your nether regions?

Maybe the answer would be implants that prevent pregnancy in all these teens - oh wait - not just teens getting pregnant but adults as well.

Odd when growing up there were very few teen pregnancies - then later it seemed they skyrocketed - now it seems they are going down again.

Some years ago - don't recall year or if the show was a 20/20 or 60 minutes show - but they interviewed a bunch of male teens who bragged about how many girls they got pregnant. Then we had all these young teen girls having kids and going on welfare.

When did planned parenthood go from being just that - planned PARENTHOOD - to womens/mens place to get cancer screening? What happened to the free clinics that existed for such - provided by States? When did planned parenthood change from plans for parents to a medical clinic? Seems the place should no longer be called planned parenthood - based on all the discussion being presented.

Who is going to enforce this ? Would that be the Government ? So you are suggesting forced sterilization ?

no not forced sterilization -- its a birth control thing that lasts so many years. Can probably find it by searching internet.

Personally I'm an advocate of abstinence until you are an adult. (at least out of HS)

Final Spending Cuts, Program by Program
The GOPers on the House Appropriations Committee released a chart of the cuts in the federal budget for the rest of fiscal year 2011. It's a pretty handy reference point for the top line numbers across the board.

I would not have allowed anybody to place a foreign object into the body of my daughter.

How I handled the situation, in a way I deemed to be more realistic when she was around 16, was to ensure she had received the most comprehensive, up front and forthright sex education that I, and my female Doctor, could give her. To me, this was no different than teaching her all the other things in life that would help her stay safe and happy with a future to look forward to. We armed her to be able make her own sensible and realistic choices based on education and resources. I gave my Doctor permission to give her birth control, if this is what my daughter requested during the privacy of their mutually agreed upon consultation.

Sex is THE most powerful of all human instincts and it is nonsense to believe that most young people will choose abstinence. Nice theory...didn't work when my Mother used this as sex ed when I was growing up. Hence the birth of my much loved daughter. :) When I waltzed out the door at 18, I had no conscious plan to have sex, the evening just evolved to participating. I was completely unprepared as many teens are today.

Just heard Bill Maher on Rachel and he questions the wisdom of forcing women to have kids they can't take of and then cutting the funding which would ensure these kids are taken care of.

Under these right wing extremists, that have now taken control of Obama, the underprivileged can just die one way or the other, the mom's AND the kids. What a heartless bunch of wingnuts!

raggedyann - you did so because you cared, and had a dr to talk to your daughter at age 16. Sad to say a lot of parents did not have that ability to take daughters to drs - or were too busy working to do so - or all the other "excuses" - some legitimate, some ehh.

That was then - today's kids are a lot younger who are active sexually.
