I think I heard something earlier this evening about 11/18 when it came to certification of the write-in votes in Alaska.

Possible 30,000+ error in counting in Colorado in favor of Buck. A sudden surge of those votes came in from El Paso Co? which is usually a more liberal area for votes, and they were put in the Buck totals.

Stay tuned...

Liked what Reid had to say - his supporters voted for hope, not fear - and were looking forward not backward. He spoke of challenges that were difficult, but not impossible to overcome - of courage and commitment. Inspirational.

Jerry Brown gave much the same kind of speech in Oakland. He spoke of courage, loyalty, honor, duty - as well as creativity, vision and unity.

Sharon Angle gave a surprisingly touching and powerful speech. Some of her ideas were extreme and more backwards reaching as far as particulars, but not in spirit or love of country.

All in all - a night of experiences, surprises and inspiring moments. Unforgettable, really.

Btw - the error in counting vote totals in Colorado were not errors with the county in Colorado, but by the news agency - UPI, I think?

Bennett is trailing, but not by much.

Hi Linnea! yes, I'm very glad Jerry won. I don't think I could have dealt very well with a Meg ("Nutmeg") win. :p And glad about Boxer, too. :)

We got most of what we voted for today -- the things most important to us anyhow.

We kept everyone in office that Corvid and I wanted us to keep, so all is well there.

Prop 23 went down -- had it passed, that would have suspended implementation of our Air Pollution Control Law and set us way back in controlling greenhouse gas emissions.

Prop 25 passed -- which changes the legislative vote on budget-related stuff from a 2/3 majority to a simple majority AND will require that our legislature permanently forfeit their daily salaries and expense accounts until they pass the state budget. This has been a HUGE problem here.

Prop 19 failed, but that's OK. I'm sure it will return to the ballot another time in the future. At least medical marijuana is legal here. I'd just like to see the criminal element removed from it all the way around.

Yeah, I've been reading about some hinky stuff going on with this one, too. A recount could be in order there, methinks.

Ditto! :D I'm also very proud of Californians.

The only race I've been concerned about in our state is that for Attorney General. But Kamala Harris (Democratic candidate) just pulled out to a slim lead this hour (Alameda County -- that's Oakland -- finally came in). My own county (Yolo) which is a firmly liberal Democrat county, has only reported 43% so far (I think we are lagging the furthest behind for the entire state in reporting tonight, for some strange reason), but I'm too tired to wait any longer... will have to see what has happened in the morning. :)

One more thing about Prop 19 before I go, too... from what I just saw on the Secretary of State's website, not one single county passed it, which is really surprising until you consider that 1) illegal dealers voted against this, and 2) legal dealers (those involved in the medical marijuana trade) also voted against it. I heard that the growers -- both legal and illegal -- up in Humboldt County were strongly opposed to it. So... go figure...
