My mom always used to say something like "Oh you hurt your leg? Would you like me to poke you in the eye so you forget about your leg?"

:D :D :D

My mom used to tell us to stop crying or she would give us something to really cry about. She never did, but it did the trick.

it was a joke between us, albeit a sadistic sounding one, but one she knew could always get a smile.

My Mother always knew about someone who "died" from what I was suffering at the time,( stepping On nail, glass, having a blister etc.) she was a hoot once you got to know her, I know she lived to embarrass my sisters and I. Such a difference between her and my "stoic" German father.

We'd usually get the usual spiel about how we would live and that maybe we should stay in the backyard playing lawn darts.......:D

Meg,

Will you continue to ride?

I certainly hope the PT makes it better and it goes away.

I hate to think of you no longer riding when you love it so passionately and I know you don't want to think of that either.

I think I can safely say yes, with new tires preferably. But let's hear it from the megman.

Tires are fine. It was just a perfect storm with the planets lining up or something.

Tires that like dry, dual suspension (stopping quick shifts weight to the front forks lifting the back, so it requires a weight shift in the seat) and cantilever brakes.

Body permitting I will ride again someday. Always get back on the horse.

But it's going to be a long haul with the PT to gain use of the leg muscle again.

I have a good friend that , after what seemed like months finally got the cast off his leg. For quite awhile he looked like some how he had gotten the "wrong" leg, no matching pair. Which sent me into a fit of laughter . I do have a perverse sense of humor though, never know when it will strike me. :evilpengu

Off to Hospital de Hull this morning.

Suppose to do X-rays without casts. I have a feeling the foot will still be a few more weeks, but with any luck the hand cast will be gone.:crossing fingers:

Well the cast on my hand is gone. And I have the official okie dokie to start trying to use a shoe.

Everything has mended well. Now it's a matter of retraining the muscles and stretching the tendons.:coolhat:

Yes, but I have to be careful and try to go slow and not over do it.....(could not type that without hysterical laughter)

The work starts now. But it sure felt good to be able to take a real shower for the first time in a month.:crazyjump

Megman,

Happy to hear your spirits are a bit lifted now and I am thinking you are on your way.

Do NOT over do.
