Joe was one of the first people Johnny and I met here.

He was really a very nice person.

Rest in Peace, Joe.

MapleGirl and I were deeply shocked and saddened to hear that Joe had passed. His formidable intellect and passionate opinions were greatly appreciated in this house, even if we didn't always agree with him.

He was a true original...and we will miss him.

Oh, God. Oh dear God.

This is what he wrote on the day of Ramona's passing. I'll never forget it. "I've learned enough about this subject to be absolutely certain of one thing. No one is taken from this Earth until they have either completed their life's purpose, or screwed it up so badly that completing their life's purpose is no longer an option."

It appears he completed his life's purpose. God Bless you, Mr. Quinn. I will miss you.

You are so right WestBorder'

"He was a true original...and we will miss him." - WestBorder-

Oh' the commentary he could write.

The challenge's he would put forth.

So many, many subjects he was so brilliant at.

So much to remember about Joe Quinn.

So very much.

There was nothing tepid about Joe.

He ran hot most of the time.

He was one of those men that you either loved or didn't.

I myself loved his works'.

I will seek out his past posts from the Fantastic Forum he contributed to for almost a decade.

He left us much to ponder.

My thoughts and condolences to his family and friends.

I don't visit here too much anymore....but when I did Joe always seemed to be starting up something.

Life is too damn short.

Joolz wrote: Joe and I had our good and bad times, as anyone who reads here will know. But through the years, I have always cared about him, and wanted only the best for him. There was a time when he and I laughed together. I remember those times and carry them in my heart in his memory.

I had half a mind to ask if we might have a private "service" here on the Ship, but after reading the beautiful posts here, I think this is enough. This thread is enough.

I would also like to thank Briant for his enormous generosity to Joe's Pirate family, and to our own beloved Swerdloc for bearing the burden of bringing us this news.

I am so very shocked to read this about Joe... I looked up to him so much, although I didn't agree with him 100%, I respected him.

R.I.P. Joe Quinn, like someone else said... I'm sure you have all the answers that we are all searching for on this Earth now.

The trouble with Joe was, I never knew whether to laugh at him, or with him. Either way, he was a damn good read. I will miss him.

I was reading Joe's rants LONG before I was a member. I shall miss him. He was always informative and interesting, whether I agreed with him or not.

I don't hold to the belief that we all go when it's our time... accidents happen. And if he didn't seek medical help when he could have, and rolled stubbornly ahead, it may have just been truly an accident.

Nevertheless, wherever you are Joe, come back and let us know your time here was something you are proud of...
